dispatch school? any info please

my wife is interested in becoming a dispatcher. How long is the school? is there any schools in the minneapolis area or near columbus GA? thanks.

Length of training varies by school. Depending on qualifications, training can be anywhere from 4 weeks to a few months.

I'm currently attending Sheffield via the Distance learning course. ~2 months online coursework, and then 5 days in-house.

Go to Sheffield in south Florida...take the 6 week course. Best value for the money!

A few questions, if anyone can help.....

Is there contact info for the "distance" course from Sheffield? I did not see it on the FAA list.

Also, does anyone know how the job market looks for someone fresh out of dispatch school (for an entry level position)?

Just call the school and talk to Eric. He owns the school and will have to approve you for the short course anyways.

There are lots of open spots at places that traditionally hire people right out of school. Colgan and Skywest come to mind. Pinnacle and american eagle too.
