Heard on the news this morning that a coex plane landed in Albany sans one wheel. Anyone have any details - or is this old news or bogus reporting?

Nice work on the part of the crew (tho' I'm still trying to wrap my mind around the part that states they figured out they lost a wheel "mid flight"...huh?).
Maybe the "wheel off" light came on after takeoff? :)

So where are the twenty pages of people praising the Co-Ex pilots for safely landing the plane?

For some reason, I think that there were a bunch of brown nosing butt kissers posting on the Jet Blue thread attempting to get a resume walked in or whatever.

Good job, the Co-ex crew brought everybody in safe and sound.

Well done Coex crew. Looking forward to finding out why/how that happened. On a side note, who knew a field reporter in Albany would be so good looking?

Here's my contribution.

Yeah, what he said.

Good job COEX crew. I am wondering how they would have any idea that a wheel was missing until the post flight.

I kind of wondered if you literally meant "post flight," but then I realized I've been so tired a few times, I might not have noticed all 6 wheels missing until it required a lot of power to taxi to the gate.

You have to select "Ludicrust" power on the thrust panel.

I believe it went something like this:

EWR tower: "hey, anyone missing a wheel... anyone??"

random aircraft: "dude, april 1st is still a few days away"

EWR tower: "well... one just left the runway and it appears to be merging onto the jersey turnpike... oh, hey coex XXXX, I think that's yours - contact departure, they've got a phone number for you to copy."

" I was thinking this could be my last flight!" Shut up lady and go back to your hole.

It's more like center calls you up and asks if you had any difficulties on take off. When you say "no", he says he thinks you did. He then tells you that they found a tire at the airport and they think it belongs to you....

At least that's how it went down when it happened at a past airline I worked for.

Good job dealing with the problem but c'mon guys, it's ONE WHEEL!! They've got 5 others that should do a great job of handling the aircraft if they treat it with just a little extra care.

And seriously lady, you thought it was your last flight because a tire left the aircraft?! Did you think you were going to die when you got a flat tire last time you were driving down the road? Seriously, act like an adult!
