Anyone fly the 767-400? I am possibly flying to HNL in August and Delta's non-rev intranet site say's that with the warm temps., the 767-400 Delta uses on the route may not be able to take a full load. Also something about hauling a lot of freight to HNL and non-revs may not get on.

Anyone know the details of this. I.E. Does Delta pick a certain day of the week to haul a lot of freight therefore I should go a different day. Also is this airplane especially sensitive to temps in the 90's. I flew the 767-300 and never had a problem ever.

Thanks in advance for any info you can provide.

BMT,

I flew it when CAL first got them and we routinely took off from RIO at MGW (structural). I don't know if the engines are different, but I don't ever remember a weight issue.

If you're on the west coast try ATA out of PHX, LAS, ONT, LAX or OAK. Usually seats available. Sometimes with freight it gets close.

This happens frequently, as does flying out of a lot of South America cities. The biggest problem flight is HNL-CVG. Depends on how many pineapples are down below.
