Medflyer,

I It's all about trying to refinance that upcoming debt, and Wall Street would be more inclined to do it with some pilot pay cuts.

You don't like my prognostication history? Babe Ruth used to strike out a lot, but he did serve up the big hit once in a while.:p

You seem to think that Wall Street would be willing to refinance that debt if the pilots come to an agreement. It's all about timing General, and your hour glass has run out. If the ATSB decides to guaranty any more loans, UAL will probably be the last one, but I still don't believe that will be enough to save them. With a huge deficit and rising interests rates in the next year, the Feds will be forced to borrow more money at higher rates to pay off the National Debt as it comes due. This will leave less money for the credit markets to lend out, and only those with a superb credit history will be able to borrow. Interest rates will probably rise by a full percentage point in each of the next few years, wiping out any operational profits you may receive from a growing economy.

Your management has made your bed, and unfortunately all the DL employees will have to sleep in it.

Actually Ruth did not strike out all that much for a power hitter.

Life time .342 ba
He was on base almost 50% of the time with a .474 on base%
In 8399 career at bats he only struck out 1330 times.

It was Grienstein who said that he felt that only two majors would survive, AA and the other he hoped would be Delta.

IMHO I believe that AA/Eagle will be one of the survivors. AA mainline handeling the intl and Eagle will eventually be an equivallent of an LCC.
The other survivor, again IMHO, will be a combined NWA/Delta/CAL.

General, if I was you I would be so happy that the great Lowelycur has predicted the demise of the once great Delta. These bold statements just about ensure that Delta will be around longer than Cockroaches.

Lowelycur is nothing more than a cheap leaking Magic 8 ball. Except the Lowelycur ball answers the questions without even shaking or asking it.

Here's to a great 2nd quarter for everyone!!!!

OAKRbust,

You are correct, this guy is 0 for 10 on his prognostications----so I also hope he will tell me that I will never win the Lotto! He tries, but fails to impress anyone. We have union people that actually look at the books and know what is up. Lowecur, does not.

Bye Bye--General Lee:rolleyes:

If your union is so serious about negotiating, why haven't they made another offer? DALPA has never budged off its opening position.

Medflyer, you need to catch up on current events. The Company made their initial proposal which was countered by DALPA, then several months later the company responded by asking for more than their original request. DALPA countered with a second proposal adding more value to the company. Management has not responded.

To be fair Medflyer, we do have a contract, if the company wants help we've put about a million dollars a day on the table. If they don't want it, fine, but we won't chase a deal from a management team that has no vision for the strategic direction of the company, continues to add RJ debt and has enough cash on hand to voluntarily prefund non contract pensions. Year over year CASM is down, revenues are up, we have about the same amount of cash on hand as we did last year at this time, pension funding will be aided by the recent pension relief bill in 2005 and 2006 and very few analyst see DAL sliding into BK anytime soon.
