From that article!

Directional is trying to bring Flight Options? lower-cost labor structure to Flexjet, and that?s not easily done. Early last year, a group of fired Flexjet pilots filed suit against the company, alleging multiple violations of the Railway Labor Act, which also governs airline labor relations. By December, the pilots at both Flexjet and Flight Options had voted to join the Teamsters. Since then, Flexjet and the union have been engaged in increasingly acrimonious litigation. The company states it was disappointed by the vote, but looks forward to continuing to work with the pilots ?who are so vital to our success"

How are they going to bring Flexjet labor costs down to FO costs? That right there is KR ultimate goal! He is moving back to the pay 10 percent more and underpay the rest mentality that he had when he started FO. It is the proverbial "I got mine attitude" that he is counting on! Don't fall for it! Let's raise the boat for all. KR stated years ago that Netjets first big raise was absolutely unsustainable! Well they seem to be doing well and not only has it been sustainable but they in fact have now been given two more big raises and still don't pay for healthcare! Apparently he was wrong!

I certainly hope the IBT is planning a formal response to what is obviously a paid-for "news" article. Otherwise real journalism would have at least mentioned they reached out to the IBT for comment but say some crap like as of press time we have not heard back...

The more erroneous information in there than a National Enquirer.

IBT needs to get in touch with person who wrote that article and make the corrections. If their unwillingly then a new article needs to be spread thru all publications that will print it

Go ahead and send him an email. Mark Huber [email protected]
Let me know how that works out for you. Print media is designed to sell ads, and unfortunately, those that buy the ads have influence over content.

IBT needs to buy a BIG F ING AD

... with the goal being what, exactly? The IBT will never represent the potential buying power of Nextant, Sentient, Flexjet/Onesky, Sojourn, etc. You think one "Big F_ing" ad in Barron's will make much of a difference? We need to hit DAC where it will do the most good, like billboards outside TEB, HPN, PBI, LAS, etc. As they fail to negotiate in good faith (and they most certainly will), the time will quickly draw near for that tactic. Effective, but not necessarily good for the business. If KR was smart, he would just negotiate, give us a good contract, make everyone happy, and skip all the drama. Doubtful. If the investors were smart, they would show KR the door, but as long as he can produce for them (on the back of the pilots) they will probably leave him alone. Solidarity is the most powerful tool, and we need to get more.

I agree the billboards need to go up now. It was effective and fast for Netjets

IMHO it's apples and oranges on all fronts.

Warren vs Kenn, no comparison .
Their solidarity, our disunity.
Their expectations, our acquiescence.

I'm not saying the billboards are a bad idea but we need to recognize the beasts we are fighting are completely different then NetJets. We won't have any chance of winning squat if we don't recognize our enemy and fight effectively.

1.) We have to recognize Kenn is not shamed the way Warren is and 2.) we have to create solidarity before we can capitalize on it.

This CBA survey was a good start. It will help us with the 3rd problem and then the dominoes will fall.

For a number of years the Netjets' Union owned the billboard near the CMH home office and they used it quite effectively. When the opportunity arose to lease the billboard the Netjets management decided to assume the lease. What does that tell you concerning the effectiveness of billboards?

I know for certain that the billboards the Netjets Union leased in VNY and TEB were extremely effectivive.

Not to mention the drive-by, rolling billboards that were employed at various high profile Netjets events...i.e... The Kentuky Derby, the annual meeting in OMA and other venues. Along with the numerous negative adds in the WSJ.

Management does not like negative publicity.

It's a war on all fronts. Billboards, pickets, newspaper ads, legal work actions etc. Continue turning up the heat.
KR pi$$es me off and I don't even work for the db.

Kenn does not have the moral capacity for shame or embarrassment. This is a man who's been caught in more lies than Pinocchio and he keeps trucking with the same BS.

For the record, I'm not against billboards but I agree with Flexpilot, we will have to wage war on any fronts. We need to craft our own plan, specific to our own adversary and not just be content to follow whatever worked for NJA.

I for one would like to start by seeing whatever manager rescinded the VSP after admitting it was a ruse held in contempt. That should shake a few apples from the tree. How ********************ing shameless do you have to be to recognize you are playing games with people's lives and families and just shrug your shoulders when caught red handed?

Considering that's been RH's modus operandi for years, I'm starting to see why he fits in so well with the Cleveland group. He looked our maintenance team the eyes less than a month ago and told them their jobs were secure. Without disclosing personal business, one of them just made a pretty big financial commitment based on his assurances. An offer to move to Cleveland is the opposite of what "secure" is for him now.

Imiss, this is why "at will" is not what you want to have anything to do with when dealing with these managers. Check your pms.
