Delta's Big Gay Agenda gets funding, pensions don't
Speaker:
If Delta does not have the money to fund its pension obligations to its employees, how does it find the money to promote alternative lifestyles and associate with funding for the publisher of "Secrets of a GAY Porn Star" and "Youth Gay Pride?" I am not a prude, or bigot, but darned if Delta can not find something better to spend its limited respources on - like keeping the promises it has already made to its employees, customers and business partners. Somehow I think there are more worthy causes than cultivating gay pride amongst children and knowing the secrets of a porn star of any stripe.
Delta 2005 Pride SponsorshipsATLANTA PRIDE FESTIVAL 2005Members of Delta's Global Diversity and Human Affairs organization recently announced that Todd Hussong, a technical writer assigned to ASA's Airport Operations Training and Standards group, had submitted this year's winning Pride theme – "good goes around... in all the colors of the rainbow."
According to Hussong, the theme complemented Delta's new marketing campaign, which is part of the airline's goal to become more customer focused while celebrating the relationship between customers and employees.
"I really liked Delta's overarching theme that good things happen when employees and customers work together. I thought that idea, coupled with the 'colors of the rainbow' would be a perfect fit in terms of celebrating diversity," Hussong said.
The theme will be used on T-shirts and in print media during this month's Pride events. Delta has supported Pride events throughout the country in recent years and is this year's official airline sponsor of the Atlanta, Boston, Cincinnati, San Francisco and New York City Pride Festivals.
These sponsorships further the airline's efforts to support the events and organizations representative of its diverse employee and customer bases.
