Hiring in 2007 with almost 500 on furlough and another 100+ on PLOA or MLOA ... ???
Could be wishful thinking about more expansion for DCI to fly all of the new e-jets courtesy of LOA #51.

The 76 seaters that will go to DCI will not be a cure all to our woes. They will provide a little extra revenue with their first class seats to make sure they make that section profitable. Our Medallion passengers really do need the first class option on those planes.

jehtplane said:Didn't you say there was no way any Delta pilot would ever allow anything above 70 seats at DCI and there was no way a TA would pass that allowed that.
General Lee said:There could be some truth to this rumor. When I talked to the ATL Dalpa rep he said they thought 1 in 4 of the current furloughed pilots would accpet a recall. He surmised that most of them would stay at Southwest, CAL, or Netjets. We SUPPOSEDLY need 40 more MD80 type aircraft for next year's schedule alone. 40 MORE. Where would we get those? The ALPA guys telling this story in the ATL lounge and the new Captain's Incommand forums said possibly from Alaska's old MD80s (with Jack screw problems) and some from Iberia, who is trading in their MD88s for new Airbus aircraft. Is that a done deal? No. Why would we get old planes? We can't get new ones, the order list is too long---for atleast a few years. When I asked about how we could afford getting those 40 planes, he said the lease rates would be half the rate of a new 70 seater.
So, could there be merrit to this rumor? Yeah, maybe. They would have to ask everyone back, including TBKANE, and then go from there. You never know.....

We flew together on the Brasilia in Dallas. You were a stand up guy & a good CA. I was happy for you when you left for Delta & just thought you should know that some of the old ASA guys you might not even remember have been rooting for you from this side of the fence since you left. I've heard the furlough was tough for you. I hope you make it back asap, if you're still interested. Hope to see you around - sooner rather than later.

More mad dogs. Give me a friggin break.
No wonder deltas in the sh1tter.

General Lee said:Sounds like everyone who wants to come back will probably have a chance. How is that scr%$ing the junior saps? Good try.

General Lee said:Even better try. I stated that before I even got to read the TA, and then I did and thought it made sense for the situation we are in. And, I actually admitted on this forum that I voted yes, which I didn't have to do at all.

Its like reviewing the movie before you've seen it.
Just not that smart - but kudos for the honesty in revealing your vote.
