So I guess DAL management will be getting their post-concession bonus' any day now?

The only thing that I amusing in this is after several years spent reading posts on the ALPA message boards from DAL pilots trashing ASA and Comair pilots (and Airtran, JB, and SWA pilots too) for destroying the "profession" with lower wages, the chickens have finally come home to roost. Now the SWA pilot can post about how the DAL, USAir, and Untied pilots are bringing down their wages and destroying the "profession". LOL!

I haven't done any in depth analysis, but I'd be willing to bet the new DAL rates are still one of the highest if not the highest in the industry. You can't just look at book rates when computing compensation. Did they give some? Definitely! Did they "bring down or destroy the profession?"...hardly. EVERYONE is giving back right now. It is part of the cycle. I'm sure there are still plenty of takers for DAL cockpits when they become available again. Good Luck DAL.

In the TA it states that no later than August 1st 2008. I am now almost half way through furlough! I hope that this is worst case senario, but don't have a clue as to if that is hope or stupidity.

I still don't see where you get your info? I thought we were supposed to expand in Feb, and we are still retiring in large numbers? There are supposedly cap limits built into the PBS system, quarterly limits. And, it is contractually stated that all furloughs must be back by 2008. Could something go wrong between now and then? Sure. Could some airlines go away between now and then? Probably.

I asked the ATL chief pilot about the recalls and he said that he was optomistic that all of you guys would be back before 2008. I hope so too.

It is also contractually stated that they can file Chap 11 and begin new furloughs while hiring Post Retirement Captains.

Do you know who is watching that one? The IRS. They do not like double dipping. The IRS stated there is a time limit. That would mitigate a lot of the furloughs.

were you not one of the guys that bashed the Delta Pilots and DALPA for being greedy and destroying the airline for not taking paycuts? And ofcourse now that they finally had to take the paycuts your bashing them for lowering the bar. I can tell from all your posts that you are one bitter guy and really hate Delta, but Im pretty sure that when they hire again you'll be the first in line.... won't ya .

Actually, I thought you all should protect the profession with full pay until the last day. I did not agree with DAL pilots trying to tie pay cuts at DAL to concessions by the ASA and Comair pilot groups.

The IRS is pretty powerful, but I don't think they can control, hiring, firing, furloughs, or recalls. They collect taxes on income.
