As I understand the situation, Delta has always paid the difference in daily gas prices for the regionals because Delta was contractually obligated to cover the difference. Doubt that will happen now. I am sure most Delta pilots are SICK of using their pay cuts to subsidize this practice.

Are Lawson and Ford crying to the Delta MEC now? How about another lawsuit... Who will they sue now - ALPA?

Should be interesting to watch.

Bye Bye -- General Lee

General - you come out of your exile and post something this dumb?

You putz. Your pay cuts are not used to subsidize Connection gas. Is this a new line of crap your MEC is putting out?

Delta pays for the gas under their contract because they get a better deal that way. Delta buys in bulk and saves money the same way my wife does at Costco.

The other reason why Delta buys the gas is because airlines like SkyWest would have to mark up their contracts to cover the uncertainty in fuel prices. This "uncertainty premium" is the same prinicple that insurers use to make money. By avoiding the "uncertainty premium" Delta saves money.

Also, Lawson was an ALPA EVP, not a Plaintiff. As for Ford, he has been doing real estate forclosures and doing quite well. He started about a year an a half ago. That guy seems to be ahead of the curve on most things.

Please tell us you simply failed to sign off in the crew lounge because your post was really, really, stupid.

....must be done with his "almost hold MD80 captain" class...

Not really sure what you're kvetching about. If it's the fact that "fee for departures" get gas subsidized by the parent company as part of their contracts, I will remind you that:

1. Profits at regionals are getting lower and lower with leaner contracts. And they'll never get better, because

2. The parent company pays the same $$ for each flight, profitable or not.

Remember, regionals can't raise ticket prices to offset higher fuel prices. The parent company can . . . and should. Really, the cost of fuel at regionals is a non-issue if Delta can just get its crap together.

We haven't forgotten your NO mantra and YES vote.

Thanks for lowering the bar and 'holding' the scope line.

Hey LEEna,
It's not too late to come on over to WN. You can use your next vacation to get your 737 type, unless you got one during your time serving your country. In 2 years when DL finally goes tits up, you'll be glad you did. You can thank Plato for your career mistake.

Being worse than a scab is nothing to be too proud of, but coming from a numbnutz like yourself, I'm not surprised. Of all the stupid things you've ever posted, this ranks up there close to #1!

That's funny, I was just going to say the same to you!

737 take a break, the general doesn't need hummers from you every day. There is only one thing worse than being the general, it's being his little playground bitch that stands behind him talking smack.

I have been quite busy lately, but thanks for recognizing my absence. I feel the love.....

Putz? Come on. I speak the truth. You and your regional pals have been telling us here how profitable and needed ASA and the others have been for Delta. But, in reality, we are the ones hurting thanks to your contracts with us. Paying for the fuel difference is ridiculous. SkyWest loves to report HUGE profits, yet if higher fuel prices were actually included on your side, those profits would vanish. Poof. Gone. Have you forgotten good old Ron Reber's statement about having Delta pay the difference and how good that was for SkyWest? So, tell me again how we buy in bulk and how that is good for us, even though Ron Reber admits it really is better for SkyWest? Maybe you should explain this all to Ron Reber.....

When I talked about Lawson, I was just remembering how he was sooo greedy asking for extra 70 seaters when our furloughed pilots were out of luck. A lot of us will never forget that, and I wasn't even furloughed. Ford may have to foreclose on his own house shortly, unless he sues someone else for some bogus reason too.

This really will get interesting, and I can't wait to see what happens next. And, my exile is only temporary. I will have a lot more time shortly to be on here more often. Thanks for caring.

I don't care what you think. It was the best option at the time, and I stand by it. The scope line was nudged, and it needed to add first class to those birds to help attract all of the lost frequent flyers that left us to fly someone else with more comfortable cabins. Long flights on 50 or even 70 seat RJs really is our main weakness at DL. Call it an epiphany. Maybe you will have one too someday.

Say what? No thanks. I think we will be expanding now that we gave away a huge chunk. If you need a recommendation, (after you are sick of 6 leg days, every day), then PM me. Sure, you are at a great airline, but it is not for everyone. One Southwest FO told me "they work us like dogs." But hey, I am sure you will just LOVE it. Good for you....See ya. Tootles.

Does he make more than you? Really, does he? Oh yeah, you have more potential..... Compare the current pay rates. What year are you again? Dork!

Many of the regionals have had too much of a good thing for too long and we know it. These "cost +" deals will be history in the near future. Bottom dwellers like Mesa and CHQ will undercut every "decent" regional out there and further reduce our wages - that's a fact. Ron Reber and Skywest will now need to reassess their own cost position in light of this more competitive atmosphere as all of the majors review current contracts. Get ready to fly CR9s at Brasilia wages (Ameriflight EM2 wages).

The regional business is going to hel! and I ain't stickin' around much longer...

So i hope it is not you that is behind us complaining because we are going .62. During a line check the other day I was told that this new system we use here at comair is saving over a million dollars a month in fuel. so does that make comair your new favorite General?

Dave,

Thanks for flying slow and saving us money. But, I don't think DL management is impressed overall with your company. Your past strike cost $1 billion, and your FA obstinance is making them mad. Good luck.
