So has anyone heard when the decision from this current RFP will be announced? Will it be a quick one or will this be something we will hear about in early 07??

Sometime in mid to late October...

As long as pilot groups keep falling over backwards to take pay cuts for growth, the race will continue. Our worst enemy is ourselves. Stop it now.

Amen........................................

AF

I can't see Skywest, ExpressJet, or Air Wisky winning this bid since I doubt they would offer the lowest bid. Delta can care less about customer service therefore CHQ, Mesa, Colgan, or some other bottom feeder will get this.

The bid is going out because of the poor performance from what i understand so why would they replace CHQ or Freedom with CHQ or Freedom?

IMO...this bid is going out because Bedford want to use the 145's for the CAL operation. All of CHQ's 145's will be replaced with S5 170's or RW 175's. I keep hearing there are several 170's in Brazil for RAH ready to go.

The writing's on the wall. This RFP is smoke and mirrors. Except for the 50 seaters. My guess XJT will start flying their extra 145's for DL. The loser here may be Mesa.

This is a great oppurtunity for Republic to show Delta that we really are the most cost competetive and yet still provide great service.

This is also a great opportunity for someone to push you out of that window

This bid is to put pressure on us at Comair. We'll see what happens, they definately pissed off alot of pilots and have talked a few people that voted yes and are now saying hell no.

Right now i would vote No. I need a new car and don't want another POS, if they lay me off, i will go back to school and pick up a second degree, I can always come abck to flying if i need to.

Lowest bidders win again, I guess.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I think SkyWest/ASA is gauranteed 80% of all new Delta Express growth (as long as SkyWest/ASA stays at current, competitive rates). This was something negotiated during the ASA purchase last summer along with the 15 year contract.

I dunno if that's true or not, but this flying up for bid ain't growth...

I guess, I definately won't vote yes on anything similiar to what was approved last time.

We are worth more than that and the stresses of the job jsut aren't appealing to me at the LOA payrate.

FO rates are only abuot 52-54% of the CA rates. BS

They were guaranteed growth, but nowhere near 80%. Besides, they've already gotten a good part of it. I'd bet the latest RFP could be awarded entirely to another company, and the requirement would still be met.

would explain why Skywest is hiring 600 pilots uuummmhhh and freedom is opening a base in ATL and sending more ERJs here, so ASA can go fly more flights out of another hub?

Tool gives too much credit

Yes it's real.

1. Makes me wish the CA has electric window switch for your side.
2. The "class" this picture exhibits is worthy of a true professional. [Is this where the sarcasm alert is put?] I'm sure those in the terminal really wanted to get on that aircraft.

What the f%*k do you know about CHQ's customer service?! Have you ever flown on one of our flights? A few flights perhaps...so you could actually form an educated opinion??

If not...shut that gateway-to-hell under your nose until you have....f-ing idiot....

I think many of you have hit upon the correct reasons for this bid. I also think it is multi-faceted.

1. Pressure on Comair to settle its labor disputes.
2. Great chance to rid itself of Freedom who has thus far had very poor performance.
3. Allow RAH to pickup additional 70 seat flying with thier E170/175 airframe. and perhaps allow them to move some of their E145's.

I did find it interesting that there was nothing said about CHQ's 135 aircraft. (37) pax. Did i miss something in my reading?

I believe all of these items weigh heavily into this restructuring bid.

Uh, yeah it is (part of it)

"The bids also will be critical in helping Delta meet its regional flying growth needs. The RFP includes up to 50 76-seat aircraft featuring first class seating that Delta can add to the Delta Connection fleet to meet the changing demands of the network."

I think we at mesa can cut costs that republic could only dream of. Our CRJ900 fleet is posed for this type of growth. Plus you cant race to the bottom cause we created it, this is where our stability and growth lie.

I've flown plenty as a paying passenger on CHQ flights. Customer service sucks.

where does it not suck! Your customer service sucks, everyones customer service sucks!

Skywest already has a chunk of flying secured they bought it so to say ala AirWis. But make no mistake they will have two bids in on this. Lowest man wins but SKYW will make a run at it. You will know ASA is bidding if the contract gets wrapped up in a week.

Oh ya...a fine unbiased opinion from a PSA J4J guy....

I bet you anything this is a scare tactic to get us here at comair to get something signed from the unions. Then large growth will be given. Then we will be sold. This is just a way to get all three outcomes without coming out and saying it.
