Let's not forget that a request for proposal is simply that, a request. I can send multiple plumbers requests for a proposal to fix a broken toilet, then decide to do the work myself (meanwhile there are a bunch of plumbers calling each other whores on their own web boards).

I can't believe Delta is trying to lower the bar again.

The bar can't really go any lower, it hit rock bottom in the mid-90's.

When people starting paying $10K+ for their jobs at the commuters, the bar was officially as low as it could possibly get. It just seems like it has been lowered since then.

I bet you anything this is a scare tactic to get us here at comair to get something signed from the unions. Then large growth will be given. Then we will be sold. This is just a way to get all three outcomes without coming out and saying it.

I'm glad someone is an optimist around here. I wish I could feel the same, but unfortunatly I think you are dreaming. BTW, who says DAL has the financing avialable to buy a/c for Comair. There are other reasons Delta would be sending Comair a/c back to the lessors, not just because we have an "uncompetitive" contract.

The bid is going out because of the poor performance from what i understand so why would they replace CHQ or Freedom with CHQ or Freedom?

I don't understand how someone can bring up poor performance without talking about ASA. They have been the bottom or at the bottom of the DOT stats for yrs. How do they somehow get a break. Sorry, but they suck. -Bean

Personally, I would rather work for Lakes than for Mesa or especially Ho-Jets. I, of course, do not suffer from SJS. Most turboprop guys at these airlines would agree with me. Just because one company operates jets, that does not automatically make it better than a company operating 1900s. I seriously doubt Big Sky, Commutair, or Gulfstream will bid on this flying.

Based on the letter Comair sent to employees alone, I'd say this is a squeeze play on Comair. The FAs have not settld, so none of the other labor concessions have taken affect.

We've seen this all before. Pay cuts or lose airplanes. We need to call management's bluff as a collective group and stop this race to the bottom. If our regional airline managers want to bid contracts they cant fly with their current labor rates, then so be it. No more pay cuts. Let Delta contract with the bottom feeders. Thry get what they pay for and soon the pendulum will swing the other way after the public backlash.

As long as pilot groups keep falling over backwards to take pay cuts for growth, the race will continue. Our worst enemy is ourselves. Stop it now.
