Continental does control the leases on all of Expressjet's ERJ's. I believe Continental's stock ownership in Expressjet is somewhere in the neighborhood of 9%. Both companies are profitable, at least for the last quarter.

The real question is, would continental, american, delta, etc be more or less profitable without the feed from Expressjet, Eagle, ASA, Comair, etc? I don't know, but I'd guess less. Feeders are a big part of the hub and spoke system.
