This is entry level dispatcher. Historically, a person is an assistant during training then upgrades shortly after. Rumor has it, this will be a rather large class.

Welcome, and thank you for checking in about the opportunity to join our team as an Assistant Flight Superintendent.

The Assistant Flight Superintendent position serves as the entry level position in Flight Control, with advancement opportunity to the Flight Superintendent position. (Flight Superintendents provide dispatching of and operational control over Delta's daily flight operations in accordance with the Federal Aviation Regulations and Delta company policy.

Successful bidders must complete all training requirements including a competency check demonstrating desk proficiency and knowledge/compliance with the Flight Superintendent Qualification Standards.

JOB PURPOSE: To support the Flight Superintendents, Seniors, Sector Managers and external customers by gathering and disseminating information about daily flights. Assist the Flight Superintendents with operational issues and in monitoring the progress and safety of Delta's flights. Office responsibilities may also include updating manuals and implementing the overtime program. (Rotating days off/8 hour shifts.) Practices safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: FAA Aircraft Dispatcher License is required. Operations and passenger service experience along with supervisor/managerial experience is highly desirable. Knowledge of meteorology, Federal Aviation Regulations and previous flying experience is beneficial. Necessary to complete a formal selection process consisting of a written test battery, board interview and performance review. Must demonstrate exceptional leadership, management and administrative abilities, with strong interpersonal skills essential. Ability to perform under pressure is a requirement for this position. Must possess the ability to analyze large amounts of disparate information, draw conclusions, act in a timely manner, handle multiple tasks with changing priorities. Must be performing satisfactorily in current position.

  • Have a valid driver's license
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Be able to pass an extensive background check, drug test and audiogram
  • Be authorized to work in the US
  • Have the ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays

It appears to have vanished for now. Check back, it has not come and gone. Should be open until 7/22. That system tends to be a little tempermental.
