Delta plans to triple gates at SEA, article

I hear delta got 1 additional gate for next year only .. So debate ..

Debate your guess? Looks like they just announced a bunch of new routes, and they must have room for those. I'd say the SEA airport authority wants more expansion and revenue, and look how much expansion has already happened. I was there a few weeks ago and saw 3 domestic 767s next to each other in the B Concourse, a bunch of 330s at the S-Island, and some 757s and 320s in the A gates. It's just gonna get bigger and bigger, eventually.

We have 11 gates right now, want 30... These decisions are done by the Sea-Tac authority based on how many gates we have each Aug. 1--We are building a "new" international arrival location under the "A" concourse. 2-- They want to extend the "A" concourse from where it is today towards the hanger, adding 8-10 new gates. From the end of the current "A" gates, there is nothing but "room" between that and the Delta/cargo hanger... This was presented to Sea-Tac this past spring, with approval expected by this fall/winter...construction to begin in the spring of 2015, with completion by fall of 2015. Think we is we end up with 25-30 gates, and become a major player in the Asia market. SEA 737 base on the first or second A.E. in 2015. Had R.A. on our flight to Seattle last week and he mentioned the international arrival location in the A concourse is coming.

So it's going to take less than 6 months to complete a major terminal expansion? Nothing happens at the the port of Seattle quickly ..our terminal expansion has been on the plan for years..

But wait, old school 737 "heard" DL only gets 1 gate next year......
