Delta is waiting for the results of the buy out offer. Then they will determine the number of furloughs. They should start soon.
I don't think there's a Delta pilot on property right now worried about getting furloughed.

Another thing on the capacity reduction this Fall. If you look at the schedules, DL is putting a lot of A330-300s on Trans Atlantic stuff this Summer. That is a heck of a lot bigger than the normal 767-300ER that used to fly those routes. If you replaced those planes after labor day with 767ERs, wouldn't that mean a large CAPACITY reduction? What if you just moved those planes to fly Southern Routes during the South American Summer (and our Winter)? That would equal a CAPACITY REDUCTION for the FALL, by just switching planes around. This Summer DL has put A333s on ATL to BCN, DUB, and FCO, and JFK to ATH, BCN, and DTW to FCO (which is Seasonal). Add to that the ATL to Venice and Athens service that is always seasonal on the 767ER that always goes away after Labor Day, and there is the Capacity reduction. There will be some temporary parkings too (some 744s), but they will be getting new lie flat seats and new IFE systems, and that is a perfect time to do that.
Bye Bye--General Lee
Good old Delta and their capacity reductions. That's what they're known for there. Capacity reductions...and pay cuts...and furloughs...and farming out flying.
Don't you have anything better to do?
Probably. But same could be said for Genitals Lee. I wish you Delta guys had better things to do other than bring down the lifestyle of a commercial airline pilot. And then brag about how awesome you are.
