Maybe this is on another post...but whats the deal with Midwest...Since NWA was the big investor in that purchase...Is that now going to be under Delta?

I have seen in other posts that at least in the Delta agreement changes have been made in scope to allow ownership of Midwest without absorbtion. I have no idea if that is official. Or if that agreement needs to be ratified by the pilots.

I'm sure if that's true there are numerous restrictions on the holding company for the use of MH.

Our union keeps bantering about how we are going to be part of the deal... I personally think that we are screwed. If they keep us separate, then our fate will be parking all the 80's and slowly selling our 717's untill the new Delta can put its extra airplanes in MKE to fully wipe us out. MKE pax will be pissed at first, but all they really care about are cheap tickets. That kind of mentality along with RJ's are continuing to rot the industry from the core. 8

The DOJ will have their hands all over the deal, but will approve the deal.

DOJ wil make DL give up slots and gates at JFK,LGA,DCA

Give up gates in ATL,MKE, most likely NW gates--most likely to Airtran..

And there will be more DL will do to get the DOJ, and DOT to approve the deal.

Or maybe just sale Midwest to AirTran! Good luck guys.

Huh? Again, NWA flew what--4 flights a day out of JFK? And the NWA flights at DCA and LGA never overlaped with DL's. NWA's mainline flights only flew to their own respective hubs. Doubtful any LGA or DCA slots will be lost. I can see NWA giving up their 3 gates at ATL to Airtran. Great. IF Airtran merges with SWA, then they will have to give them to Spirit......

Bye Bye--General Lee

I think that you are correct about NWA's gates in MKE. They may have to give up their gates in Terminal C as well.
We might all start using D in MKE.
There is a long way to go on the MEH deal, trust me.

The Northwest way.....period. Nothing to be proud of.

This quest for a merger was inevitable ever since Delta changed it's livery. It all makes sense now with that tilted all red widget that points to the northwest. Even more coincidental, the new CEO of Delta who once was the CEO of NW carries an extensive background in the aspects of Asia and Far East flying, which goes in line with what Delta is trying to do more of. Also, the close financial relationship between Midwest and Northwest with TPG Capital makes me wonder. To further the connections, as of Feb 4th Joseph C. Kolshak, who spent 20 years with Delta and most recently as the executive vice president of operations, will now become Midwest's chief operating officer. Not sure if this is related, but Chip and Jerry were having dinner in Mke with some executives from Midwest and whoever else last week and then were departing the next day out of Msp.
All coincidental or just a quest for Delta to become the "New World's" global airline along with the world's largest regional airline partner, SkyWest.
Mwahahahah!
Mwahahahah!

World Domination!
Oh, Yeaaah!!

I have no idea what you just said, because I was too buzy laughing at the funniest avatar EVER!

That and the apparent presumption that Oh, Yeaaah!! is destined to be the new Yeah, Bouuuuuuyyyyyeeee!

10nCLR

You got my vote on the coolest avatar on the board.

Cool Aid, back pack, ipod, slobs-- That what these regional pilots and LCC guys want us all to look like.

There are slobs everywhere. From regionals to majors. It's all about pride in yourself and motivation, which a bunch of major guys don't have...

Just need to lose the hat......

Thank you.
I still chuckle every time I look at it too. I hope I break up the reading of those monotonous threads and posts on FI with a little laugh now and then.

About my hat, I had to throw it on because I ran out of hairgel this morning and I had an early show.
Maybe next week when I get paid, I can buy a case of hair products in travel sizes so I never run out.
Oh, YEAAAH!!
