I think I will keep enjoying the best airline service across the pacific with award winning meals finished by desserts from Pierre Herm?

We invented first class airline service in the US, but it is long gone and not really making a good job at improving it. The best performing airline in the US is DAL and the world standing numbers are slipping!

Dumb Pilot, whatever helps you sleep at night. How's the IRS treating you lately? I understand that they've taken quite a liking to expats lately. I guess that just an added bonus of working for the 'bestest airline evah'.

I live in the US and file accordingly....! My sleeping patterns as well as my understanding of how much the US airline industry needs to improve are fine thank you!

How is living with your head buried in the sand working for you?

Awesome; that's got to be a great commute.

I'm fine buried with my head buried in the sand. I spent my furlough years making sure that I was financially in a position to never be dependent on a salary again. In my early 50s, I can retire any time I want to and still leave a sizable estate.

Frankly, I stopped caring about the industry's reputation quite a while ago. The US airline industry is giving the traveling public EXACTLY what it wants. Cheap airfares; just look at Spirit's quarterly statements and compare it with customer feedback on the items that you think are important.

One has to change with the times; now that LCCs are popping up overseas, the same trends will happen worldwide. To think otherwise is to not understand human nature and perceived value.

Look; even Spririt can win an award: http://ir.spirit.com/releasedetail.cfm?ReleaseID=884982
It's not a passenger service award, but it'll probably sell a couple of tickets to treehuggers.

But please continue to tell us all more stories about 'bestest airline of the year' awards and how they mean something. To anyone. The only customers who are going to point out any award an airline's won was already predisposed to fly on that airline. It's even less important to the traveling public than lost luggage statistics.

I strongly disagree. I've ridden foreign and domestic carriers. Service levels always depend on the side of the curtain you're on.
Single digit seat - service is great, no matter the airline
Double digit seat - service is comparable, no matter the airline

I find F short haul on most foreign carriers to be an inferior product to short haul F in the US (except express service). Foreign short haul F is comparable to F for domestic express carriers.

If you or your employer aren't willing to pay seven digits for international long haul F, this entire topic is like discussing the merits of a Lamborghini vs a Bugatti. I drive a Porsche Cayman S; that's as exotic as I'm willing to flush money down the toilet. Do you drive a Lamborghini or Bugatti?

I will disagree again. Top notch foreign carriers are far superior. Of course not all foreign airlines are better, but the top foreign carriers are better than the top US carriers. If flying overseas, I will choose the non-US carrier 90% of the time. Sad, but true. BTW, I drive a Ferrari.

So you were able to find employment again? You'd been hunting around, interested in jobs at fracs paying a lot less than Ferrari owner pay.

Fantastic commute actually....! Confirmed business class with that 5 star service you say is just data manipulation...., again you are just plain wrong, the service is not even comparable.

I'm glad that you have a side business just as I do, I've had a construction company for years, just turned 50 and I'm glad to say that I'm flying just because I'm enjoying it.

I hope you don't get too much attitude from the gate agent on your next commute, or don't have to get into a pissing match with your dispatcher to get extra fuel, I hear that it is a constant struggle at UAL.

Take care.

Wow. Massively overcompensating for your shortfalls, eh?

I could care less about airline awards, just like 99.999% of the population. 99.99% of the population hasn't even heard of Skytrax. That you consider this crap important makes more of a statement about you than anything else.

But I concede. AirJapan cargo is the bestest passenger airline ever and deserve to win every freaking airline passenger award ever created. Their PARC contract pilots are the bestest, smarterest, prettiest pilots that have ever been God's gift to aviation. The rest of us scummy pilots should be thankful that PARC's contract AirJapan 767-300ER pilots even communicate with us scumbags.
There - does that sufficiently stroke your ego to compensate for your low self esteem so that when you're on that 10+ hour commute in C class on your way to NRT that you can bask in your Pyrrhic Victory? Fantastic commute ... LOL!

Sorry that you are not the only one who has a side business, didn't mean to hurt your fragile ego....!

But for what it's worth, finally somebody on this site competes against jenny with junior high style responses when they don't have a good argument.
