Some hard stats from the FAA for ya:
Total GA flights in 2005 - 23,168

From what I understand, the first stat includes all 135 flights (scheduled or unscheduled) and all 91 flights regardless of subpart. The second stat is for all 121 flights. When you consider that the 121 flights are more limited in airport choice than 135 and 91 flights, I think we can understand why 121 carriers are having a scheduling issue.
BTW... American is blaming GA for their problems out of DFW. Never mind that virtually no GA aircraft land or depart from DFW.
