I actually agree with you. Always stated that as well. If DAL wanted to lose 1 bln on a 2 bln dollar purchase price then it could go though, but the divestiture and overlap would be ugly.
 
Just curious about the hiring numbers expected per month. Regarding the rumored 65-70 pilots needed, would DAL's training facility be able to handle that sort of volume? Especially concidering the subsequent triggered movements/bids that are awarded with those already on property.
 
A recent letter from our VP of Flt Ops said hiring "COULD" start as early as late 2012.

A lot has to do with how many senior bubbas take the early retirement currently offered. The target is 300.
 
Recent memo was significant hiring as a result of the new pilot contract and upcoming retirement bubble. 7,000 over the next 10 years.
 
I heard the same thing from one instructor, but a different one said August of next year.
