Super92:
They can merge the operation without a joint contract. We can do the SLI, then the contract. Heck, that's ALPA's merger policy.
If we knew the SLI our negotiating priorities might be better and we would be better able to negotiate what we need - issues like scope, commuting, relocation, displacement bidding and furlough - all issues that we might take more seriously if we knew that we were effected.
You know good and well thats not the best way to do this. Both MECs agreed to do it this way to avoid dragging the joint contract out and being the next USAIR.
Have you seen the TA and all its details? Not rumors but have you seen it? Before you get bent out of shape and get worried about things that havent even happened yet, go to the road shows, ask your questions and give the process time. We have smart people working on our behalf, do you think your MEC isnt working on your behalf? Why the distrust in your MEC now and not before? Bottom line is there is no point in getting worked up when you/we dont even have half of the facts. Our MECs have done well so far, have faith in them.
