You sound as if your saying that chapter 11 is the end of the airline.

United has been operating under chapter 11 for a while and Continental operated under chapter 11 for years. Chapter 11 will give Delta an opportunity to get it's finances back in order.

You have to remember you work for one of the lowest paying of all the major airlines (not just pilots), in addition its one of the most simple. Delta over compensated many of its pilots and now they're paying the price (thanks DALPA). So southwest's problems and delta's problems are different. Delta paid a whole bunch of money for Comair, American paid a whole bunch of money for TWA, and now look where both of those airlines are. On the other hand, look at Northwest, Continental and your employer.

Chapter 11 will also give Delta an opportunity to force those greedy pilots at comair to take a paycut, since they haven't followed in big brothers footsteps and voluntarily taken one. Comair pilots complained about the way that Delta pilots treated them during their strike, when they needed help, support and nurturing. Now that the shoe is on the other foot, I don't see them stepping to the plate and saying hey if our brethren are going to take a 10 percent paycut, then we will; if our brethren are going to take a 20 percent paycut, then we will for the good of the body.

So Chapter 11 is definitely not the end, the beginning of the end....maybe
but only time will tell........
