Yeah, because playground pinky swear promises in business that aren't bound in writing hold up a whole lot stronger than cash. Dumbass.

Stay classy Sig.....why ya gotta get all sensitive when somebody doubts your story? Need a hug?

How could that be legal under U.S. anti-trust laws?

It's not. Good luck finding anything in writing stating that. Or anyone admitting to such a deal.

On the UAL side, from 5 Nov Crew Resources Outlook:

We have completed our fourth round of base rebalancing work, and as announced, we have evaluated pilot movement and will start round five, a displacement bid, this week. We plan to remove a total of 37 positions (all SEA 76T Captains and First Officers).
This reflects our decision to close the SEA pilot base, effective March 2, 2015. Here are answers to two frequently asked questions related to this change:

Why are we closing SEA?
Changes in our operations, flight schedule and fleet renewal have required us to force inefficient flying into SEA for some time. As we work to put our pilots in the right places, we worked through the NPDM process as outlined in the UPA to consider this change. After very careful analysis, we concluded that it would not make economic sense to continue to maintain the SEA flight base.

Why won't we open a 737 base in SEA?
While we understand that a 737 base in Seattle would be desirable for pilots who call Seattle home, it would not make sense when looking at our flying. Our best flown (unconstrained) optimizer runs show no material change in credit hours resulting from opening a SEA 737 category. It would be very small and drive the need for incremental reserves to maintain reliability. Our long-term strategy is to focus on protecting and building flying in our core hubs.

Jan crew resource update.

2015 is shaping up to be an incredible year. 50 new crews in Seattle. 3 717's per month. 4 new 330s. New 737-900s. New contract that will set the standard for the rest of the passenger carriers.

Better enjoy it while we can! Only one way to go from here as they say.

Word on the street is that we are also trying to get Airbus to move up deliveries of the 321's. We may see some of those in 2015 as well.
