Jan crew resource update.

2015 is shaping up to be an incredible year. 50 new crews in Seattle. 3 717's per month. 4 new 330s. New 737-900s. New contract that will set the standard for the rest of the passenger carriers.

Better enjoy it while we can! Only one way to go from here as they say.

It's not. Good luck finding anything in writing stating that. Or anyone admitting to such a deal.

We have completed our fourth round of base rebalancing work, and as announced, we have evaluated pilot movement and will start round five, a displacement bid, this week. We plan to remove a total of 37 positions (all SEA 76T Captains and First Officers).
This reflects our decision to close the SEA pilot base, effective March 2, 2015. Here are answers to two frequently asked questions related to this change:

Why are we closing SEA?

As we work to put our pilots in the right places, we worked through the NPDM process as outlined in the UPA to consider this change. After very careful analysis, we concluded that it would not make economic sense to continue to maintain the SEA flight base.

Word on the street is that we are also trying to get Airbus to move up deliveries of the 321's. We may see some of those in 2015 as well.
