Talked to a couple of rampers and a gate agent today at DFW and they said the talk around is that Delta wants back into DFW but mainly with RJs. They said the word is that Skywest and ASA was to start operating up again at almost the same capacity as before the pullout at the south satellite. They didn't know when though. Could this be possible?

Well, that checks off the semiannual "We're going back to Dallas!" rumor...

MELIT,
Are the below quotes really true? You must feel really lonely at night. There is help available though. Seek professional counseling, it may be covered by your insurance. The best of luck to you.

Same crap, different day. Stop responding to the little twirp and maybe he'll go away.

Come on, everyone knows ASA was going to get the soon to be announced DFW base, but they had to take it from us because we weren't competetive. So we lost it before we got a chance to get it.

Dick

I heard that we won't get the DFW gig because Joey told mgt we refuse to buy his "the sky is falling" crap, and that we're firm on full retro, raises for everyone, and fantasic schedules. So it'll go to someone else........

Get a life, Jetdi.

Hey, YOU HEARD WE DIDN'T GET RELEASED? I thought we were getting it FOR SURE this time?!!!

I've heard Mesa/Freedom, Pinnacle, and Comair would be going to DFW. Why would DL want to head back down there after closing shop a few years back? I truly hope ASA guys/gals get it. OH crews got bent over on the MCO/GSO deal so hopefully someone gets a good deal.

Let's see...Comair has a heavy presence in BOS and JFK. BOS mentioned as a new crew base due to ops in the NE. Several F/Os were recently displaced from their captain ground school and sent home. Other F/Os had there upgrades cancelled before ground school even started. The company announces 14 76-seat CRJs to replace 14 50-seaters.

If history is any indicator, mangement will announce DFW as the next Comair crew base!

And then monkey's will proceed to fly outta your butt....right!

I am from Dallas and in the media you do hear a lot about how bad DFW airport is hurting for airlines to come in. They have dropped their real estate prices down quite a bit. When Delta was there they uped the cost "probably" to cover the new international terminal. Not saying this is the sole reason why Delta moved out but the cost did get higher and DFW Airport was probably betting that they couldnt possible lose them. But the airport is definitely trying to bring back business.

Actually,

The newest skunk work's rumor is that ASA is opening an ATR base in DTW for some large airline that operates there. They have a "need for feed, not speed!"

Perhaps they should worry less about lowering terminal rent and lower the landing fees a little.

Last I was home, they've just about got the main part of Delta's old Terminal E with what DFW Airport Board once called "The Superfluous Airlines".

Northwest, Continental, Alaska, Delta, AirTran, Midwest, Frontier, US/HP are all over there...clearing out all of Terminal B for The Hitler Youth (except those few gates in the middle United is using 'til DFW kicks them out at the end of their lease in a couple years and over to E as well). Makes me wonder if United is just checking the place out for their eventual move to E (or E Satellite) instead of a new carrier moving in there.

DFW Airport Board can't seem to figure out why few want to start new service from DFW...yet they treat the Terminal E airlines like red-headed stepchilden.

Hard for me to understand why an ASA pilot gets so much satisfaction out of an announcement such as this. Guess you're too far into your anti-ALPA drivel to change huh.

Weak. You didn't even answer the question. Just another pathetic cheap shot. Pretty much what I expect for someone so close to the MEC.

Not a cheap shot. You denying now that you're not anti-anything ALPA? Of course I know we didn't get released. Never wrote that we would. I wish we would have, however, so that management would finally face a deadline and have the threat of a work stoppage staring at them. Rant all you want, but the real majority of ASA pilots want a fair and just contract. Settling for one without COLA, no retro, and no rigs is not acceptable to the majority.

I am NOT anti ALPA. I am 100% pro ALPA in that I believe ALPA is our best chance, despite its flaws. I am upset at the general lack of direction and lack of leadership our MEC is showing. That's my perogative, and is how a democracy works. I also feel that many ASA pilots agree with me.

I too wish we were released for the short term gains it would provide, but truly, that won't solve our problem, it will only accelerate our demise. We will never strike, because Skywest Inc/ASA will settle in the 11th hour and give us everything. Then they will systematically part us out over the next three years. You can't possible ignore that in light of everything that's been said here.

I may rant, rave, and even offer an occasional calm rational discussion. But I firmly believe that I AM in the majority you speak of because I want COLA, retro and rigs. I just don't believe we will get it.

And I also know how to separate my wants from my needs. Do you?

If we can't achieve our wants, and needs, then why even negotiatate with management? Should we just roll over and take it up the rear? Needs, interesting term. Cost of living demands we get COLA, as one example, to take care of our needs. Needs to provide for our families, educate our children, pay for increased health care, live in decent housing, and many other needs, and wants too. If this is not possible to achieve, then is this job worth having? Management doesn't have a problem lining their pockets. Compensation for managements is way out of line compared to the 'workers'. Even Congress is investigating this subject. So, we can achieve our needs and wants. The majority here demands it, and the MEC will follow what the majority want.
