Yes, this was coming. They are doing it now so that it will not appear as part of the merger.
Kind of sucks it is the only commuter terminal that works well.

I have a feeling they will relocate most of the larger RJs to DTW, and CVG will one day be a small 73N or A320/19 base, feeding the Procter and Gamble contract...

Bye Bye--General Lee

It is beginning to look that way.

A "birdy" told me that a lot of their 50 seaters MAY BE going bye bye at Comair. I don't think they make money in high oil anyway...

A birdy told me all 50 seaters going away very soon. Taht is not good news for CVG.

If that happens, then Delta will be pulling out of a lot of cities......That isn't good for anyone.....

No it is not that they will be pulling out of cities. It is the fact that most of the cities that the RJ's serve cannot be served from four or five different hubs. I am sure you will see reductions in either frequency or destinations. I am sure some of this will occur at mainline as well. The only difference is that all of our flights are full and they will need larger gauge aircraft to do this.

Joe, take the time and come over and talk to our route guys. They are very open and frank to those who are willing to listen. It may even make you think twice about your long term plans.
Simply put, there will be more 76 seat jets and eventually a 100 seater, but a DC-9 can take the load of a few 50 seaters real quick. DAL has some big plans and they will be announced in the next few months.

lil birdy told me to look at the possibility of another variant of the DC-9 on our certificate in the near future!

They won't be pulling out of those cities, they already have flights to DTW from them. We just don't need redundant RJ flights, except for larger cities that clients like Procter and Gamble want nonstop from CVG. Expect a smaller crew base, and nonstops to larger cities and a few transcons with maybe a nonstop to CDG and AMS. I would think 737-700/800s and A319s would fly most of those routes domestically.

My comment was in reference to the statement that "all 50 seaters were going away"....That would result in Delta pulling out of many small cities.......I don't see them "all" going away......

My comment was in reference to rumors some of us have been hearing about 50 seaters going away at a particular airline. I don't see "all" 50 seaters going away either.

ALL 50 seat rj's out of CVG. Comair 18 year captain in the van over to airport today said they are hearing same thing.

Heard that too. They will have less frequency with 76 seat lift.

Lets hope Troy. Fact is that DTW and MSP are easy commutes but CVG is just a nice place to fly in to.
