I have pretty much put the word out on him down here to the guys who hire at DAL. If/when we hire, he will NEVER get a chance. I would suggest you all do the same at your airline, unless you want him working there. PM me and I will give you his name so you can forward it on to those who need to know.

Just doing my part to keep the tools out!

Good work, dude. You saved a lot of people some very painful 4-days in the future.

Super, thanks for talking to your Reps.

FBN0223, if you haven't, let your Reps know your thoughts. You are right and the reps need to hear your opinion.

The BEST thing I have ever done on this board is put tanker pu$$y on my ignore list. What a tool.

If Delta is even still around when I retire, I will get a job there...if I want. Tell anyone you want my name jester. It won't matter. I'll be pooping in your flight bag before you know it.

Ah, the sweet sound of nothing....thanks ignore list for not making me endure tankerclowns ignorance! Jester757, stick it to him!!!

Yes, the ignore list is almost as good an invention as beer, almost.

Funny though...I have had two guys PM me today wanting his name to black ball him from their airline too. Do you think tanker dork will ever get the message? He thinks beacuse he was some General aid that he can just pick what airline he wants to work at....the interviews are all just "a formality" for him. What a tool. Perhaps he should realize that aviation is a SMALL commuinty.

Hope they were from either FedEx, UPS or SWA since those seem to be his top choices. DAL's already out, too bad tanker, it's going to be a good place to be!

No, but we shouldn't place multiple RJs on mainline routes. Like a said, in my city we completely lost all Delta mainline jets. We are left with 6 daily Skywest 50 seat RJs. These jets are miserable to fly on, replace Delta pilots, and lose money for Delta Airlines.

I'll take the center seat of B757 any day over a 50 seat RJ.

Really? I'd gladly sit in the back of an RJ any day than end up in the middle seat between two fat guys. Or in the middle seat between two armrest hogs...IMHO the RJ isn't that uncomfortable.

Except for the neck kink if you have a window seat on the 50!

I was in the back of an RJ when another passenger decided to head on back and have their morning constitution, it was no pleasure cruise back there....

They love frequency, they just don't want to pay for it. We(mainline) are done being the sugar daddies for frequency. We have paid dearly in both career progression and hourly rates to fund these experiments. RJs were great to raid others spokes, but as soon as everybody had them they became money losers. Now throw in the absurd oil prices the mainlines can't run fast enough from the contracts. I see a bunch of broken regional contract in our future.

And a 757 with about 45 pax sure isn't what Delta is looking for.

Remember, some folks like Frequency and the RJ's allow for that.

The days of the Mainline companies footing the Fuel bills and providing guaranteed profits for the regionals are QUICKLY coming to an end. Especially now where some of the regionals are starting to sue the companies they work for. The shift appears to be headed to a couple wholly owned carriers where the money is kept in house and the "profits" arent given to an outside subcontractor. Not to mention a wholly owned company carries the freedom to change "contracts" and business models easier.

Nice thought, but your soon to be parent company sold their most profitable asset (ASA) and is treating Comair like crap. While ASA is continuing to be hugely profitable for SKYW INC (providing 60 percent of their revenue) the competitors who have undercut SKYW and ASA to gain flying are being put up on the chopping block and the flying is going towards SKYW and ASA.

I echo the sentiments common among 80% of regional pilots when I say...

Mainline, please buy us! Tighten your scope, purchase your regional affiliates (cheapest way to acquire a new fleet), and take me with your planes. Staple us to the bottom of your list. Only 10% of our pilot group will object. I would work for the same wages (which top at 119/hr for 175 Captain) IF IF IF I had a mainline seniority number. We regional guys have never been out to destroy your companies, we just went where the jobs were. Undo the mess that was made 13 years ago and buy back your scope and your jobs.

This is a trend, according to every analyst, that will continue. The trend is the reduction and the eventual elimination of the 50 seat RJ. Actually if you are a Delta or NW pilot this is good news. Fewer RJs and more passengers on "real" jets.

FBN0223 I get on this web-site rarely. I must say that you are a MORON when you use the word "real jets". By the looks of it you sound like you are a commander on the Space Shuttle. I will gladly take the center seat next to you in any aircraft and pretend I am cool like you!
By the way what constitutes a real jet?
Guys like you is the reason why I do not get on this web-site often.

I wasn't around back when RJ's were invented, but why didn't the mainline unions just keep the flying of their pax on non-real-jet airplanes for themselves so they could keep the payscales where we all want them?

That or they offloaded over 100 50 seaters that nobody wants anymore.

Great post and i wish/hope we could make it happen. I have contacted my reps about it and everyone should be doing the same.

Think about how much money could be saved by eliminating all of the money grubbin', bonus mooching executives at the regionals. Staple me PLEASE.

Post #6 and already calling names to anyone who doesn't agree with you. May I suggest you take you debating tactics over to airliners.net. You'll fit right in with the kids whose daddys are airline pilots.

For my travels, I prefer a Boeing. Transcon you'll probably find me on a Delta 767 or connecting on a NW 757. If riding on a 50 seat RJ is your thing, then go for it. UGLY, looks good on you though!!!! Good luck.
