Anybody know if people on bypass gain seniority while on bypass? Example: pilot A has been on property for last 5 years. Pilot B was on property 2 years before he/she was furloughed. (Before Pilot A was hired) Who is more senior when bypass person comes back?????

My understanding is that they keep there seniority number while on furlough and move up (or down) regardless if they're on the property or not.

On that note, what's everyones guess on how many will come back? I hear a bunch are on military leave and need a few more years of full time status in the military to get a full retirement. This may prevent them from coming back just yet.
 
I think he means gain longevity. For example if you are furloughed day 1 and recalled two years later, do you come back on year 1 pay or year 3 pay?

I believe if you were furloughed in year 1, and could have been recalled in year 6 but declined, and eventually came back in year 10, you are at year 6 pay because that is when you could have come back in the first place.

Whomever was hired first.
 
You retain your seniority position.

Longevity continues to accrue until you bypass, then it stops.

You still have a hire date. What ever the Seniority list via the arbitrators states is your seniority. Thanks to the Seniority list integration by the arbitrators, there are NWA guys that are junior to DL guys, but make more money per hour due to longevity. 2007 DL pilots were mixed in with 2000 hires at NWA. Those guys from NWA are junior to the DL guys, but make year 2000 wages, while the DL guys make year 2007 wages (year 10 at NWA vs year 3 pay from DL).

So, whatever the new list states for your seniority, that is where you will be. Clear as mud?
