As a gold elite memeber i recieved this email from delta.( from frac flying) I used to fly atl to mdw on airtran but for this I have to say delta all the way. They are really going after airtran, this could get ugly.

Watch it now....The DL haters will accuse us of operating there trying to undercut Air Tran, and operating at a loss....But we're in bankruptcy and not paying our bills, right??

If I am not mistaken, DAL will use Shuttle America E170s on a lot of these AirTran routes (like MDW) and other competitive legacy routes (LGA to ORD) where a MD88 or 738 would be unprofitable. The E170 is very comfortable for pax and it should economical enough to operate at very low AirTran price points. Add Delta's frequent flyer program and it should be interesting to watch... We'll see if DAL pilots eventually get to fly the E190 which could drive further profits on the lower yield routes.

I've jumped on Airtran a few times now ATL-MDW because Delta's RJs were pretty full. Twice on an AAI 737 we had maybe 40 people. They actually had to move people into the back of the plane for weight and balance.

I havent had it happen in a long time but on very lite loads they used to make everyone sit forward of the emergency exit row.

Yeah, I'm sure that happened.

I'm not kidding. Business class was full and everybody was sitting forward of the emergency exits. Maybe 40-50 people total. They moved around 8-10 behind the exit row. Luckily I was at the exit row and didnt have to move :)

It was a 737-700 and it's happened twice now to me.

DAL goes after JB....gets side tracked then ends up in bankruptcy.... In bankruptcy now picking a fight with Da Tranny. A fight that is not fair cus Da Tranny is paying their bills and DAL is not.

Actually, I've had to do just that on a DC-9 a few times, so it's not that far fetched.

Except in the -9 you moved them fwd.

Ignorance is bliss......isn't it??!!

DL has flown 737-300G's into MDW, and 738s after that. I flew E120s and D228s out of there for a few years, never really liked it except the circle app was fun.

SWA/FO,

I hope you never have to go through what we did in BK. But, you never know, SWA could be next for some crazy reason. Don't be so kocky.

Bye Bye--General Lee

Which just proves what kind of an idiot you are, and have no clue how the bankruptcy process goes! You should be caeful swa f/o, nobody is safe in this business!
Why don't you tag along there that JB isn't paying for airplanes as well.....
