Delta and Comair to cut 1000 in CVG

NEW YORK, Sept 7 (Reuters) - Delta Air Lines Inc. (DAL,Trade) expects about 1,000 jobs to be lost as a result of moves to slash flights from Cincinnati, its second-largest U.S. hub airport, its chief operating officer told employees on Wednesday. Jim Whitehurst said in a letter to Delta workers that the 26 percent reduction in capacity would hit 1,000 employees of Delta and regional affiliate Comair, with the number of involuntary layoffs not yet known


Sorry to hear the bad news for all the ground folks in CVG. Hopefully this won't affect the pilot recalls...
