Somewhere on VA Ave...

Smithers to GG: Sir, the traffic figures are in and show increases across the board
GG: EXCELLENT !! Bonuses for all VP's and above and I will let you give me a back massage.
Smithers to GG: Sir, you are doing a wonderful job since you took over for that Leo character.
GG: EXCELLENT !! I am sure he is enjoying his hard earned $16 million plus benefits.
Smithers to GG: Sir, the employees are working hard to produce these stats perhaps we should throw them a bone.
GG: Smithers, you genius. See that all employees get an extra Buddy Pass with in their next paycheck.
Smither to GG: Sir, what are you going to do about Mrs Davis and the shareholder mtg on the 19th?
GG: Smithers, you just ruined my euphoria. Maybe I will let you rub my back next month. Get out...and send in that Kolshak fellow.

Domestic traffic in April 2005 increased 6.0 percent year over year, while capacity increased 2.7 percent.

Northwest froze their capacity increase plans, United just pulled down domestic capacity approx 14% (on top of numerous other pulldowns), Delta needs to be doing the same thing. Also, Delta's load factor is always behind their peers, except maybe U and SWA.

Skykid, if I'm not mistaken, Delta has been the most popular airline for quite some time. They are always winning the award for "most passengers carried?"
General maybe you could supply the title! I know they are always at the top or right close!

These numbers mean nothing without the RASM. I would be interested to know the effects of Simplifares.

Here, here!

Thanks BoeingMan. Initially Simplifares was supposed to bring down revenues, and that was known. Of course that will happen when you cut walk up fares in half. But, Simplifares was created to increase the number(volume) of walk up passengers since they are at a reasonable price now. That increases loyalty and fills first class with paying customers, instead of non-revs. We expanded this program system wide after a great showing at the CVG hub, and the revenue dip was expected. The Simplifares program also eliminates many of the lowest fares because they aren't needed to fill the planes anymore. There are many changes going on in this transformation plan, and the fare structure was one of the first.

Bye Bye--General Lee

From the last SEC filing, DAL passenger revenue increase 3.5% although RASM decreased 2.4%. Fuel Nuetral mainline CASM is down about 14% I believe.
