Wow, you sure have a "fascination" with different "lifestyles". I thought you were under the rule "don't ask, don't tell?" How did you feel not doing well enough in T37s to go to fighters? I saw you went the route of the Beechjet---T1? Ah, somebody has to deliver the gas. That KC10 is really cool, though. How does it feel watching those fighters zoom by after they suck gas out of you? Do you wince, a bit? Ah, instead of the airlines maybe you can be a guard bum somewhere on some fighter. Someone is BOUND to give you a fighter and you can live out your dream to be ICEMAN. Were you a football player at the Academy? I heard a lot of them got tankers? Probably because they are so big they can't fit into a fighter. Are you a big man? Probably not. It appears to most of us you have a small brain. Keep trying, someone will accept you.
Bye Bye--General Lee
this tanker clown is well on his way to joining pocono, hellonewman and instructordud in the flight info hall of shame.
no one in this forum (or anywhere) cares about your KC-10, military pay, etc. etc.
get back into the military forum where you belong. good luck getting hired.
Getting hired is going to be no problem. Kit Darby says there's a pilot shortage...there will be a bidding war for my services.
People do care about my KC-10. My mom says it's the best airplane and shows pictures of me in it to everyone in line at the grocery store.
You should have no problem getting hired by mesa. Just kiddingGetting hired is going to be no problem. Kit Darby says there's a pilot shortage...there will be a bidding war for my services.

General,
I thought you had some retirees that got basically NOTHING from the retirement debacle. They weren't old enough to fall under the PGB and got less than the 45,000 dollars max.
I remember reading specifically in the AJC.
I have no problems with not being a zipper suited sun god. It's not for everyone. Were you dissapointed when Song didn't save you guys from Ch 11?
I would like to point out that the DC-10 is quite a sweet ride. It's even sweeter because each year I make more money flying it. On that note I wouldn't bag too much on the military fliers. At least we have got raises and haven't taken pay cuts. Ha Ha. Pay cuts are fun. Just kidding...I wouldn't know if pay cuts are fun. You tell us. Just kidding.
You shouldn't go as General Lee you should go by U.S. Grant. As in Unconditional Surrender. That's what you looked like a few years ago. Did that help you stay out of BK? Once again...just kidding.
On a completely unrelated note, did Delta consider canning you when you got caught on "To Catch a Preditor"?
Bye Bye--Tanker Clown
Dude, what are you doing with my mom? We all know that you are into dudes. Especially the General. Or is he too old for you?
Just kidding...but seriously, be careful. If you don't register every time you move, or you are violating your probation. Your neighbors have a right to know who's living next door.
You're trying, but not hitting the mark. Waive off the fighters and return to base, slowly.
Bye Bye--General Lee
You struck about as much of a nerve with the fighter comments as I have with you rolling over and taking pay cuts. But not being a fighter pilot doesn't cost me every time my paycheck comes.
Bye Bye--Mav....er....Tanker Clown
General,
Since you are unable to answer some basic questions in regards to hedges, please try not to share any opinions on the matter since you do not understand the purpose of them.
The answer to SWAdudes question, the results would be the same.
Profit or loss on the hedges results in roughly the same profit.
"We're on the deck, we have a salute and we need a windcheck."
Wow, thanks Professor. How's Ginger and Marryann? Can you try to teach me Calculus too?
I understand the concept just fine. And, I can share ANY opinion I want, and you can try to refute it. I don't really care. Seriously, you need to understand the concept that you will be doing multiple leg days with 25 min turns for the rest of your life, most likely on one aircraft type. That sounds fun, NOT.

General,
This is not news for any of us at SWA. Before we applied, we knew what it was like here. We knew about all the flying that SWA does and how it is done.
We still made the choice to apply at SWA and then made the choice to accept the offer of employment when it was made.
To this day....13 years later, I am doggone glad I left a "legacy" carrier to come here. It works for me....thats really all that matters
GL has to realize that once he capitulated and gave up pay they lost all thier leverage. The 25 minute turn thing is quite old and tired. He has to save face. I'm sure he was quite rah rah about pay cuts. I can remember him saying how it was probably going to keep them out of Ch 11. Obviously he was wrong. I can't remember, but I'm sure he said Song was the new Air Tran. Now that it looks like their numbers were worked by mgt to keep them from getting a raise he has to rah rah that. So now he bags on you SWA guys for your 25 minute turns and fuel hedges.
Whatever. If I was one of you guys I'd just ask him if he'd like to compare paychecks.
that's probably because Tanker Clown doesn't know his @ss from a hole in the ground. but he does fly a KC-10.Tank:

Most were given most of what they were owed. The PBGC was made "whole" by the claim sale, and the retired pilots also got an $800 million claim themselves. Some lost some healthcare benefits, but hey, we did go BK. I think most got more than they thought they were as we were going into BK. But, you knew all of that already.....? Lu---zer.

Hey Ginital,
What's more fun, a 25 minute turn or a pay cut?
General.....You can't possibly believe what you have just posted? Nothing could be further from the truth!
Hey Clown, you are slow, we all know, but you neglect to understand that I GOT $280,000 in the claim sale directly from BK. Of that $88,000 went to my 401Ks, and the rest was in cash which was taxed. I did very well, and the bottom guy who was furloughed the longest got over $200,000. In the meantime I am upgrading by next Summer most likely, and my pay will also be close to what it was prior to BK. One other thing, prior to BK we had a 75 hour cap on pay, even if you flew over it. (a bank system kept the over run of hours) Now we get paid what we fly. So, I really do make close to what I made.
But, you CAN'T HANDLE the TRUTH. Read above, again clowny.
