I can just see Daley attempting to use the TSA to pull the tickets of any "hostile" pilots who publically display their displeasure at him. All in the name of peace and safety of course. He's a pimp who happens to be a politician.
While it is noble to bypass Chicago in regardings to "boycotting", it also hurts the local FBO/aviation community. Direct the anger at the source, King Daley.

I like the idea of plowing up Daley's street so no terrorists will mistake it for a runway

The fly by is a cool idea. Though if the taxiway is still open, let Daley wake up to Meigs packed with airplanes. The FAA can't violate everyone. I mean it's possible for 500 planes to have sudden engine trouble over lake Michigan right near Meigs :D .

I don't think the flyby is the way to fight this. The reason is that Daley is too stupid to care what we think. He also knows we don't vote for him.

The way to fight this is legally. The alphabet groups (AOPA, EAA, etc...) as well as the Friends of Meigs Field are working up lawsuits as we speak. Join these groups and financially support them.

Also, write your congressional representatives in Washington, and your State reps in Springfield. Express your displeasure with Daley's actions and demand action be taken against him. Gov. Blagoyavich (sp?) isn't the final word in Illinois.

Finally, write the FAA and demand action be taken to re-open CGX. By its charter to PROMOTE and regulate, the FAA must act on this closure of a federally funded airport.

Long live Meigs Field!!!

I heard somewhere today that it is a Federal Law that they need to give like 30 days notice to shut down an airport so people can take their planes out of there. So if thats true, isn't that a Felony and lots of jail time?!?!

I fully support the Fly-By by downtown. I'd even say to look up where the Dil Holes home is and do circles around it doing steep decents aimed right at it then pull up right at the legal altitude just to piss him off. Maybe even do it at night, that will show him that planes don't just fly in the day and that we are not living in a pre WWII era! I live in St. Louis and would be willing to fly up to participate in a fly-by! Hope this guy ends up on the street with a box as his home and a piece of the broken runway as his porch.

Do some banner towing towing over his house with some creative remarks on it. He can't take away our freedom of speech to!

You are EXACTLY right, Daley doesn't give a SHI.T about us or pilot voters. He wants a park to be his legacy. The only way to combat this as.shole is with legal action. Daley also doesn't care about a Chicago boycott, as a Democrat he doens't care one bit about business.

I think one of Boeings conditions of moving to Chicago was that they keep Meigs open. Daley agreed, then renigged.....cute.

In Cleveland they've talked about trying to close Burke Lakefront to make more project homes...GREAT, that's just what Cleveland needs, more GHETTO idiots in place of a functinoal airport.

Not as long as it was done in the interest of "national security." Daley can buttf___ your mother and get away with it for "national security."

Don't you feel more secure now?
