Heard that about 280 DAL guys retired June 1st. Anyone know the exact number and how many were early-outs ?

I don't know anything unless it's in the ATL newspaper...or one of YOU guys tells me. When you leave, 10 minute later they can't remember who you are. But at least they know where to send the check !!

I'm one of the early outs and was told by one of my former F/O's that his seniority number went up by 285 today. I still feel we will top out close to 300. Here's hoping the furloughees can get back sooner rather than later.

I'm now on permanent...

I have a good friend from the AF that is in that group. Last time I talked to him it looked like he's heading south to FL and is going to start a fishing charter operation with his brother. Six more to go for me. Maybe less, haven't made up my mind yet.

Hey guys,

What is your retirment based on. I mean, why the huge amount of guys leaving in one day. At AA they have a lumpsum payout as well but for some reason those guys don't take the early out like you are. I know there is something about a 6 percent penalty the AA guys take, do Delta guys have that also?

Think the final number for 01 June 2004 was around 300...of which about 280 were "early." Tell me that is not going to put a crimp in the summer schedule. Looks like a tough summer if you are on reserve.

I did notice quite a few hose-downs going on this week in ATL. BTW, who pays for that, DAL, the ATL taxpayer, or the retiring pilot?

XDAYS,

No one can say we didn't give our all for the furlough recall effort, huh ? I've been doing a little unsuccessful job hunting. If you're going to do that, PM me and we can compare notes and I'll give you all my "sure fire" secret hints !!!

Welcome to the club...

Retirement numbers

Ladies and Gentlemen:

Final number for Jun 1 retirements at DAL: 289. All but 20 or so are early. The reason for the Jun 1 date is that the numbers for calculating the lump sum payment change as the economy changes, (more to it, but no need to bore you with usless numbers). Let's just say that a Captain I was in recurrent training with said that the difference between Jun 1 and Jul 1 for his retirement was approx. $52,000.

I agreed with his thinking and wished him well.

Take care all.

I wish them all God speed and happy fishing. They earned it and made Delta the place where pilots used to line up to get in.
