Looks like a snow storm is coming in tonight. Thinking bout hitting Alta or Canyons do DAL employees get any local discounts?

I checked the employee perks but it was a negligible discount on Canyons. Anything better out there for employees?

The Credit Union had them for either 55 or 60--but you have to go there at the SLC airport and pick them up.

Ok. I'll use that in the future. Any other ideas? Can I flash my badge at the ticketing office for a discount?

Airline id at Deer Valley used to get you a full day ticket for half day price. It has its share of snobs but if you get a little adventurous you won't see a single $1000 jacket and the skiing can be better than the Canyons, almost as good as Alta.

Thanks for the tip! I just got word that there may be a deal at Solitude and I hear there are no crowds to deal with. Gonna give it a go...I'll report what I find.

Alta and Solitude reporting 16 inches of freshies. Hoohaa!

All of the ski rental places in SLC sell discounted lift tickets that are $30-$40 less than the advertised prices for almost every resort around there.

Thanks. I heard the ski shop next to the 7-11 at the beginning of big canyon was a good place. If you have a favorite I'll try that.

Was at Solitude at 8:15am and first up at 9am. Not a track on that first ride up. Fun day.

You know about the Park City Ski for free program, with a same day Airline ticket. You have to register on the website and bring a printout plus a ticket from the same day. Blackout dates are coming up, but otherwise its a great deal or cheap start to a few days of flying. Its good at Park City, Deer Valley and Canyons. I have used it 3 or 4 times over the years

That is a good deal. Shared the chair with some folks that used that deal at Canyons. I just moved to SLC so I'm on the hunt for some local deals. I'm going to try the ski shops and flash the ID at resorts and see what's best. It'll take some time but it will be fun research.

A thumbs up to Solitude. A little more crowded today than usual because Little Cottonwood Canyon was closed till late for avalanch clearing. All in all a great snow day.
