That's correct. All we do is wait about thirty seconds before we check in. Eventually somebody else will check in with the current ATIS, and viola, now we know what is current without actually listening to it.herb said:On another note, I would like to add that regional airline pilots aren't paid enough to get the ATIS.
That would be nice in ATL with all the taxiway construction notams. (No, I don't write them down.) It s*cks when you have to listen to the ATIS 2 or three times because the departure coordinator/fueler/ramper doesn't know to turn his radio down when he comes to the cockpit.Stifler's Mom said:Seriously, if I had an ACARS that could get ATIS for me, I'd use it everytime as opposed to listening and writing it down 8-10 times per day.
It was a "joke" my friend, reason why the "smiley face" was injected at the end of my initial reply. I was "attempting" to poke a tad bit of fun at our friend Justino. I assume this was payback in response to my posts on GW?.ArcticFlier said:If it's got a D(igital) Atis (350 Driver) I get it via ACARS.
