CX Interview in SFO 5/27

Hi Anyone else interviewing for DE SO on 5/27 in SFO?? I'm heading out on 26th.

Anyone been able to interview for the SO position and get the FO US based position? I have 4200 TT 1500 MD-80 and 400 EMB-135. Iwould prefer the FO job but will be happy with the SO offer if I'm successfull!!

Go for the SO position (passenger fleet) so that you can stay on the passenger fleet - very different from the freighter side.

Depends on what you want. DEFO will let you be based out of LAX, ORD, ANC, or JFK. As an SO you have to move to HK. The money is about the same, but the time to upgrade is extreamly long to make CPT from SO.
I have heard people gripe about the frighter side, but you can always move to PAX after 3 years if there's a slot.

I know heavyset is on of our captains but do me a favor and don't listen to him... Just tell them at the interview about your "box" desire, it might increase your chances...

I interviewed unsuccessfully 2 years ago for CX SO position. I asked the interviewers how long it would take to get based in North America on the pax fleet. They didn't like that question, so I definitely wouldn't ask it again. They said plan on spending a minimum of 5 years in Hong Kong if you come knocking on Cathay's door. Also study up on living in HK - weather, population, politics,etc.
