Good Luck on your decision Stratman.

Can anyone name a "regional" that was started and owned by their parent carrier?

It is my understanding that the aircraft are not being leased, but bought out-right. . . brand-new, configured to their specific operational requirements.

This is not a throw away operation like the Freedom DHC8 Delta Connection operation.

Southwest operates on an 8% profit margin. DHC8 Q400 operators work on a 50% profit margin.

Something to think about. . . .

They sure do when they pay their captains $50/hr @ 70 hrs/mo.

1st year CA pay at most regionals Eagle, Comair, Mesa, Skywest on a fancy jet are. . .

~$55-57/hr.

Oh, and it'll take 2-9 years to finally get "good" CA pay

Don't look at the 1st year turbo-prop CA pay at those companies, you will be disappointed.

. . . and Dashtrash don't bother looking at UPS's 1st year pay. ($33/hr)

The 1st year pay is not great, but there are many other factors that must be considered when looking at a company.
