An apology is a start

Absolutely, and what's more, they're bringing more pilots back to the line and adding additional captain coverage as well. This should have been sent out months ago, but I'll give a little credit still.....

hey, the first step in overcoming your "problem" is admiting you have a "problem"......expect to see an announcement about additional flying and planes tosome soon....

Is there a requirement to allow the newest 30 recalls a chance to bid IAD vs ATL?

EDIT: I guess a better way to ask is - will there be another position notice as a result of this news?

There should have been a more accurate one in the first place. One with the actual number of vacancies and a daily projection. A-holes can't get much right over there.

He NEVER said we were understaffed. He said it was........."inadequate".

Before we were simply "tight"

Does the final award just published include those increased coverage captains or do we expect another award?

No one quite yet knows, but if the last award did not reflect additional upgrades CT would have probably said so.

Interesting how CT emphasized his apology to crew schedulers. Schedulers have been saying for three months that we are under staffed.

Ya it's probably way overdue. Most guys think this is all scheduling's fault. And while they do make some boneheaded moves seemingly sometimes, they just do what they can with what they have to work with. Upper managment makes the call staffing wise and it trickels down from there. Good to see they are gonna make a change.

He apologized 2 or 3 times in 2 short paragraphs.

I think we all knew how short handed we were. And none of us like the crazy schedules - but when a man admits he made a mistake, apologizes, and takes the steps to correct it...I appreciate that. Nothing good will come from beating him up.

Lets make the needed changes and move forward.

Yeah good news today! Welcome back furloughs, and Captains!

Well said!
Bull. Horribly said. When someone makes a mistake, you accept their apology and move on.

When a management group coordinates an effort to increase profit by screwing a large group of their employees, you say you are damn right you were wrong. Then you vow to keep it actively in you memory that your management group could care less about you and your family. They threw us under the bus once and they will do it again.. soon.
