CRJ 200 & Falcon 2000 Min. Fuel Req. for Transcontinental Trips(ie: SNA-TEB, VNY-ISP)

Good Afternoon Everyone,

I'm currently working on both a Falcon 2000 & CRJ 200 Type Ratings and just trying to determine if 10,500 LBS would meet proper Falcon 2000 Min. Fuel Requirements for release on a flight planed trip from SNA-TEB (based on 12,155 max, 11,500 Planned, and max cruise thrust of about .79/80 mach, CFE 738 Engines).

Would this work in the Falcon 2000

Also, what would the Min. Fuel requirement be for a planned trip, in the CRJ 200, from VNY-ISP? ( based on CF34-3B1 Engines, Max Cruise Thrust).

The CRJ is going to burn 3400#s the first hr and between 3000/hr at 310 and 2400/hr at 370. Plus 2000 reserve. TAS at .77 will be around 440-450.

You'll need to do the math for time and distance.

Rough numbers, but I hope they help. Maybe a dispatcher will run some numbers for you.

Ran a few JetPlans using 10,500 lbs of fuel, 10 passengers with bags (2405 lbs of payload) from SNA to TEB; EWR as an alternate:

MCT: 465 KTAS, 4+35 flight time and land at EWR with 1043 lbs (+48 mins).:crying:

M.80: 450 KTAS, 4+41 flight time and land at EWR with 1551 lbs (1+10):(


Using UltraNav for takeoff performance, max takeoff weight from SNA is around 36,300 lbs (at ISA) and using our BOW as an example, you just meet takeoff requirements.
 
It's been a while but don't the LOW FUEL lights come on when you reach 1000# a side
 
Those would be the "LVL" lights. Personally I think 2000 lbs is a little early for a warning, but what the heck. The low fuel lights come on at 250# per side.

We won't go unless we can expect 2000 lbs on landing. Of course we have landed with as little as 1600. Expecting to land with 1500 pre-departure is a little to low in my opinion.

From the above numbers, get the payload down to 2000 and cruise at M77 should make it no sweat.

Anytime a mfr warning light for anything to do with fuel comes on. I tend to take notice.
 
Personally, I'd be in favor of this plan: LRC (420 KTAS), and add 200 lbs to the fuel load (this takes me up the the maximum weight allowed out of SNA): 4+54 and 2112 lbs at EWR:0

Actually 2000 lbs is my "drop dead minimum" (at alternate); I'd really like 2500 lbs when I flightplan though. We've all been into TEB, or SNA for that matter, so when's the last time you flew the "profile" required to plan to land "min fuel"? As for burning 500 lbs to get to the alternate? Wishfull thinking for going into EWR I'd say:rolleyes:

Hate to admit this, but the more I fly the 2000, the more I wish we could replace them with 350's
