Just flew into Roswell, NM the other day and I spotted a CRJ 1000 half way in an open hanger. How do I know it was a 1000? It said CRJ in big letters on the tail and said CRJ 1000 painted in big white letters on the fuselage. It didn't appear to be in any airline colors and the fuselage was painted completely blue.

As far as I know, no US airlines has ordered any, most orders are from Europe. Maybe the factory is trying to show off their new CRJ to some prospective buyers?

Any rumors? Discuss among yourselves.

Little green guys with adorable big cat-like eyes were crawling out of it, and scattering in all directions..... Wil Smith and Tommy Lee Jones were running around with some cool-looking guns....

-And I forget what happened next.

Saw one in ICT last summer. Generic colors as you said, but with all sorts of test probes attached to it.

My guess would be hot weather testing...Boeing tends to take their planes to Tucson, AZ to check enviromental ECS systems maybe this is where they use...Oh yeah Mesa Sucks!

Flyingid is correct. Dean Balwin is based there....ther Earl Scheib of aircraft painters.

Maybe that's why the Blue part of the Southwest livery is fading so bad.

This must be know, because I doubt they took the 200 out of Canada for hot weather ECS testing. :smash:

Slated for delivery in the 4th quarter of 2009 so it was probably in for paint.

PARIS (AP) -- Spanish carrier Air Nostrum was confirmed Monday as the launch customer for Bombardier Inc.'s CRJ-1000 jet, with firm orders for 35 planes worth $1.75 billion at list prices.

Airlines often negotiate substantial discounts to the catalog price, particularly in tough economic times.

Gary Scott, head of the Canadian planemaker's commercial aircraft division, said Monday that the previously unidentified launch customer is Air Nostrum, which has placed firm orders for 30 of the 100-seat regional aircraft and converted a previously announced order for five CRJ-900 to CRJ-1000.

Air Nostrum has upgraded a Feb. 19 order announced by Bombardier -- when the buyer was not revealed -- which included a firm order for 15 CRJ-1000 and a conditional order for 15 CRJ-1000. Delivery is slated to run 2014-2016.

Cmon, Stall, don't spoil this thread with facts.

The original poster said it was painted blue. So I called my reliable source at that hangar. It is indeed painted in Midwest colors, but on the side it says "Skyteam Alliance." And then in small print underneath that, "Operated by Republic Airlines."

Mesa uses a paintshop there. We sent all the Freedom Dash-8's there to get painted when I was at MAG. They even had an INS raid there one time while one of the aircraft were taxing up to the hangar! JO might have made a secret order for go!;)

Lots
I fly for Eagle and have had ROW layovers all month and I've seen it every week. All I've seen it do for the last month is a series of take off and landings. A few touch and go's. Max braking, etc.

Now come on.... If it was a new delivery from the factory, BOMBARIER would paint it to the airlines specs....
