Hey guys,

Recently I moved and I'm looking for a new bank. Interested in what credit unions / banks specifically for airline pilots/employees you all know of and recommend.

Thanks much all

I just use Bank of America. I don't pay fees for anything and have a cash-back credit card that I can pay off online from my checking account. They have branches all over including many airports. I've belonged to 2 CU and 3 banks, and found the services offered to be pretty much the same across the board (though sometimes you need to ask for what you want).

I have DECU from when I was a mechanic there. They changed their name to DCCU, changed the Employees to Community. They will take anybody now. Good rates for loans and pay interest on checking accounts. I get $30 for every new member I sign up, I'll split it with you.

Their website says you have to be either:

A resident of certain counties in Georgia;
An employee of Delta or certain affiliated companies;
Or related to someone who is eligible

Does anybody know if you can really get the best mortgage rate at a place like DECU? I'm about to shop for a condo mortgage (2nd home or investment loan) and I'm wondering if anyone knows if they're worth checking out.

Hey,
Credit anything?...THATS RICH
Bank....Piggy(won't fill very fast, if at all)
PBR
P.S Ask your parents for a loan

Jedi, 7% on a CD is unreal. If this is for real and a NON-aa associated pilot can get a CD at that credit union, please PM me, thanks.

The credit union is doing better than the airline. AA's credit union just celebrated 70 years with a 7% return on a 1K CD.

Yeah I looked all over their site and couldn't find anything in the 7% range, where the heck are those???? I guess it was a limited time promotion, would have been sweet to get in on that!!

Overall most of their rates are pretty good though.

4.85% for savings

Who do you work for, and where do you live (non-specific, please)? That'll help us steer you better.

An excellent source of information is bankrate.com. The site will get you the best/going rates on mortgages, car loans, and more. very educational site too.

VOTED IN FAVOR!

PayPal has the best money market on the market- currently paying 5.02%. You can add or wihdraw funds from any bank, it's free, and it takes maybe 2-3 days for the funds to be deposited. I use that as my savings account, and it gets me the best rates anywhere, save for a CD, which is pretty illiquid.

Other than that, DECU is good.

My favorite is USAA- used to be open only to military, but their banking is now open to anyone. One of the best banks in the country- only have 2 branches (in San Antonio and Vegas)so costs are low, but they give you all the pre-paid postage envelopes you can handle, as well as a new "Quick Post" envelope you drop off at any UPS store- funds are deposited the next day. You get reimbursed up to $15 a month on ATM fees, and they give you cash back every month if you use their debit Master Card. They have phone numbers worldwide, and are truly a great bank. Kick @$$ insurance rates, too, if you can get them. Geico has never been able to underquote them for me.
