marriot black card has very very very high interest rate
All these "reward" cards are designed to be pai in full during the grace period after every billing cycle, hence the high APR's. Get the card for the airline miles or cashback or whatever the reward is as opposed to carrying a balance. If you want to carry a balance there are plenty of "vanilla" cards out there with low APR.

By carrying a balance you negate the value of the reward anyways.

Check out Points.com, it is great for converting your points into cool stuff.

If you're able to get a USAA reward Mastercard, get one. One point for every dollar you spend, redeemable for all kinds of stuff including airline travel, merchandise, charitable donations, cash back, etc. No annual fee, low interest rate.

With airfares in the low $200 to go anywhere, I use my miles for upgrades to first. I don't always get them, but when I do, it is a much nicer flight.
