Here is an excerpt I found from a UAL SFO LEC message:
"United is now in a very serious conundrum. ACA, or Atlantic Coast Airlines, chose not to follow the other United Express carriers in cutting their fees to United. Our European and East Coast gateway notably Washington Dulles and the respective crew base is now vulnerable as a legitimate operation due to the arrogance of ACA management. Although an ALPA represented pilot group, the ACA pilots voted to take concessions supporting their management's desire to start Independence Air flying up to 330 departures a day as a low cost airline targeting United. The ALPA ACA pilots flying for Independence Air chose to lower the Industry Standard A320 pay rates in exchange for purchasing the aircraft to compete against UAL. Those same pilots fought against a proposal by Mesa to merge the companies allowing continued feed to UAL under the UAX banner. The lure of flying Airbuses was too much incentive for the ACA pilots essentially turning on United. Although warned, our management never anticipated a scenario where our own code share partners flying for UAX would take their gates and aircraft and attempt to bite the hand that made them successful and provided thousands of jobs."
Holy Cow!!!! Are there really adults in the UAL pilot leadership fraternity that are this STUPID!!! I thought we all learned how to connect the dots of logic back in 3rd grade. Gee, Mr. LEC, ACA just really lowered the A320 bar, eh. Obviously you can't add, or perhaps you just like making comments on things you know absolutely nothing about in order to incite people. I forgot, UAL didn't force all it's regional partners to lower the bar by forcing the consequences of it's incompetence on them.
This letter by the LEC, in full, continued to criticize everyone in the World for UAL's "conundrum," except themselves. How pathetic.
If this is the kind of insight you share with your management it's no wonder why they often think of us pilots as idiots to be delt with. I am never amazed any more at how dum we humans can continue to be.
