When the company lawyer stated "but it was before 9-11", the judge said "Well, it was a real money loser." She hasn't been nice to them at all. But, we're up next on Monday, so we'll get slapped too I am sure. Let's hope for a fair agreement for all.

I really dont think this stuff will have to do much with the outcome of the case. Although it may show Delta's leadership made NUMEROUS poor decisions, most of that leadership is gone. Many of those events happened several years ago, and this is a restructuring case. Regardless of who was wronged in the past, money is money, and there is only so much of it. The Company will get what it needs to survive, labor will not get much more than the minimum amount they need to survive by todays standards. She will have to complete an industry cross standards analysis to come up with pay, work rules, etc. Delta pilots wont be the lowest paid in the industry, but they wont be the highest either. I truly wish them luck.

This crazy woman sounds like the bankruptcy-court version of Judge Judy. How do such unstable people make it to such lofty positions?

I don't believe she is crazy or unstable. This person is simply wraped up in her own self worth and power. She obviously wants to be perceived as a champion on the "common" person with her digs on us rich pilots AND lousy mgt as well.

She got appointed in 1981. Judges generally serve for life, so they can get wackier and wackier without any recourse by the folks that have to stand in front of them.

Her actions are so crazy and improper that she sets herself up for getting reversed by a higher court. But so what? Getting reversed isn't like getting fired, it just means that a higher court judge disagrees with your findings. So what?

From the stories about her, lawyers attempt everything they can to stay out of her court, but they don't speak out publically because they're afraid when they're stuck in front of her the next time she'll punish them.

Tim, I will PM you.

Also, these judges have 14 year terms I believe.

Bye Bye--General Lee

Yeah, the biggest problem with our court system is that these judges are not elected, but appointed based not upon qualifications as much as political favors. They generally don't get removed unless they break the law or their term runs out (or they die), although unfortunately many have lifetime appointments. How stupid. Makes this whole thing a damn crapshoot.
