When the company lawyer stated "but it was before 9-11", the judge said "Well, it was a real money loser." She hasn't been nice to them at all. But, we're up next on Monday, so we'll get slapped too I am sure. Let's hope for a fair agreement for all.
I really dont think this stuff will have to do much with the outcome of the case. Although it may show Delta's leadership made NUMEROUS poor decisions, most of that leadership is gone. Many of those events happened several years ago, and this is a restructuring case. Regardless of who was wronged in the past, money is money, and there is only so much of it. The Company will get what it needs to survive, labor will not get much more than the minimum amount they need to survive by todays standards. She will have to complete an industry cross standards analysis to come up with pay, work rules, etc. Delta pilots wont be the lowest paid in the industry, but they wont be the highest either. I truly wish them luck.
