I don't understand the complaints with signature.

I spent way too much time at the STL Signature and was pleased with their services. Was there a ramp fee? Yep...got it waived when I topped off. Their services were fantastic and they went above and beyond what was expected when I needed to get a hotel room for a few days. Rides to and from the FBO...several times.

I guess I can't complain at all.

Is there something they stick you guys with when you're flying bigger stuff or am I just missing something?

Doesn't the passenger pay the fees anyway?

The problem with Signature, for me anyway, is their prices. Sure they will waive the service fee for a top off or 300, 500, or whatever min gallons at nearly 6 bucks a gallon in some places. At prices these days I take only what I need, cut me a deal and I take what I can.

Signature for the most part has been good to me as well. Once you break through the pilot repellant shell, most Sig people have been ok.

Used to buy courteousy fuel when it was cheap. But if it's a $2 premium over home base -- sorry.

Yep, I'm with you there. It's it's interesting...a few years ago, when say I was paying 1.80 or so a gallon at home, I was typically paying about a buck more on the road.

Now I'm 3 bucks at home and I'm seeing 2 more than that on the road.

Courteousy fuel at 5 bucks a gallon? Nope.

I will buy courtesy fuel on occasion, particularly when I have had a good experience.

I've flown into San Jose Jet Center several times. First few were nice experiences. Got a crew car to run some local errands and I bought fuel both times. Even filled their crew car once when it was almost empty.

Last trip in ( a few months ago) was to just drop off a friend so he could pick up his airplane. I was there long enough to use the restroom and they hit me for something like $65. I could not take on enough fuel to waive the fee. I paid it, wrote them an email to complain about it and they said "sorry, thats the fee". Next trip in I'll not even get out of the aircraft.

I don't have any passengers paying for the fuel and the disparity in prices is absurd. One thing I have noticed is that the city or county run fuel operations are almost always less expensive. Seems once they turn over the flow to private industry, the prices get jacked up to make a profit for the vendor and still pay the city or county their share.

I'm looking at AirNav more often to plan fuel stops for our flights.
