Been working for 3 years and have probably had 4 costco bags. Never questioned me once about the return. Every time I take it back, they give me a cash card to get another. Works great for taxes. A new reciept every time I get a bag.

They are made very well. My biggest problem on 2 of them has been the wheels, and the 3rd was the handle. If I didn't have to drag my 1,000 lb flight bag around all over the country, it would probably last forever.

Never have problems with overheads in the CRJ unless the expansion part is filled.

SL

Just returned my bag to Costco for replacement. No questions asked, in and out.

Got home with my new bag and hooked up the tote strap to my brain bag and the clip immediatley gave way. The plastic clip is of poor cheap quality.

I took it back the next day and cashed out a full return.

The bag is good, but the plastic clip for the tote strap is junk.

Good luck.

If you're not a member, and buy online, can you still walk into a store for a replacement? Or does it have to be returned via shipping to some warehouse in East BumbleNutz.

I had cheap bags for about three years and got tired of it. I finally got a top quality bag and haven't had any problems for years now. The low end bags aren't designed to be used by airline crews.

You get what you pay for. Why be cheap about something you use every day? You pay for it one way or another.

I've had one for almost three years with no problem except for two zipper pulls are missing. Haven't taken the time to put new ones on since the big zipper is easy enough to use without. I'm tough on stuff and carry way too much stuff around on this thing between my flight bag, computer, and cooler bag stuffed with ales. I might try to find some 2.2" chrome spinners on it to pimp it up.

I bought three more for the family last year to non-rev with. The bags have changed some and don't seem to be quite up to the build of my older bag but you can buy four of these things for the price of some of the others. Go for it.

The math makes it easy:

Costco membership $50 + 22" Kirkland bag $100 = $150. bring the bag back every couple years and get a brand new one for life. They don't track it.

Purdy Neat Stealth bag $270. Get a new bag every 7? years. They don't last forever and they are HEAVY.

In 20 years, you're looking at $640+ in savings. That's not even figuring sales tax. Put that $640 in your 401K and go through the minor hassle of returning the Costco bag every couple years. I've never had a strap break. In fact I have an extra one now from my last returned bag as a spare.

Fits in Crj, if outer compartment is not stuffed. One wheel will rest on front edge of bin, but bin will still close, easily.

If you lug around a half ton flight kit, buy a metal J-hook from another vendor on line for $7 and replace the strap on the bag. Just save the original, if you have to replace the bag.

Had mine for 3 years--still going strong!

As a previous poster stated, long term, there is a cost savings. The bag is well suited for heavy use. However, no bag will last if you are dropping it off curbs--bad on the bearings!

If your flight kit weighs that much, maybe you should buy a flight kit with wheels--the 16 wheeler variety!
