Indy Guys,

Yes we need you more than you probably need us, but if anything it might help keep you current. We'd love to have you!

Got room for 1800 more Comair pilots? We'll see soon in the coming months. Hope the INdy guys that want to keep flying find a home soon. Thanks for the post.

Does Ais Whisky hire below the 250 multi,??

Do they give the full interview at the job fairs or just preliminary/screening type of questions and then full interview at a later date?

Who knows...things might have changed for 2006. We are still very short and I can't see having interviews up in Appleton lasting for much longer ( I heard they were flying people to Milwaukee and then telling them to find their own way to Appleton...nice!!)

In the past though yes these sessions have usaully been preliminary interviews with invites to the real deal following a good impression.

Also in the past they have put guys that are current and qualified on the CRJ in a "short course" to get them on-line quicker (someone showed me 6 pages worth of F/O JAN opentime the other day).

These things seem to be the best way at getting a shot at working here espeacially if you don't know anyone on the property. I would encourage CFI's thru whatever to try and hit one of these up if this place interest you.

With all the flyi and Comair furloughs, do regular (non CRJ) guys still have a chance to get an interview?

Doubtful, for the time being. This industry is all about $$$$, current and qualified CRJ guys need lees sim time and training overall. I can't remember the amount we save by hiring a CRJ guy vs non-CRJ but it's a serious amount of money.

Added to which we are short pilots and these guys can be online and flying much sooner.

I am still current and qualified, although hired at XJT and waiting on a class date, Those 69 airplanes going away makes me uneasy about going to XJT. So, I have an interview in ATW tommorrow. If offered, I would probably take Air Whiskey.

And I think I speak for all us "Cheeseheads" when I say good luck tomorrow. AWAC and ACA always seemed to have the same kind of culture when it came to the pilots groups, so I'm pretty sure you'd enjoy it here.

.

Don't let thoughts like this keep you CFI, 135, non CRJ types away from trying. This recruitment session is probably your best shot at getting on here right now. It's not invite only, it's not CRJ only...it's an open session. If you meet the minimums or even meet some of the minimums I would show up. What's the worse that's going to happen. If anything you'll learn about the company, maybe make a good first impression, or possibly be told what they'd like to see you do in the next few months and to give them a call back later.

They need to fill classes. If they are interested in you they aren't going to tell you no and hope someone better comes along later.

Reality check:

I think most of those Fly I guys probably have 6+ plus years with Indy...they all have PIC time, they'll probably all make more on unemployment waiting for a possible chance out of the regionals than they will coming here as a first year F/O....I wouldn't be surprised if quite a few wait a few months before they come jumping over to Air Willy.

Sh*t's getting ugly...I don't believe alot of the projected furloughs from other companies have actaully hit the street yet. You probably have a better shot now than later.

Good Luck

AD

Thats what I thought, unfortunately for me. but it makes sense, though. good luck to all the Comair and Flyi guys then!

Hey, don't let the fact that there are CRJ qualified guys looking for jobs put you off. Keep trying no matter what and then some!

I didn't mean to sound as negative about your chances as I did, so go along if you can and see what happens.

1800 Comair pilots??? Is that what they are forcasting to furlough? How many are on the current list at Comair? What seniority date would that go back to? Thanks...

Made it! Very nice people all around, mostly geared for the former flyi crowd. Those guys shouldn't have any problem getting in if they want to work there, ie. they don't get picked up by Jet Blue.

Why dont they get picked up by Jetblue? isn't jetblue hiring?
