Does it happen?
Do they frown on leaving 121 to go corporate?

Thanks in advance.

To the best of my knowledge, no. They will probably ask you why, but you can expect to be asked why you left one job for another in just about any interview. I wouldn't sweat it.

Just for the record, I had absolutely ZERO 121 experience when I was hired. 91, 125, and 135.

I heard through the grapevine that your newhire class had a unusual mix of people. You only had a few hundred hours on PIC turbine, none in a large plane. Another person with just a 1.7 high school GPA and NO college at all. Another guy that only flew B1900s and leave pork rind remnants everywhere. An ex-commuter girl who was intimidated having to fly the 747 and a guy that could pass for the Guat's twin brother.

And you would know that class's composition how?

How would you know the classes compostion? You're full of C...ap dude. With thousands of apps on file, I doubt UPS would have to hire someone with a 1.7 GPA or no college at all. Otherwise, why wouldn't you have been hired? Or did you not get hired cause you're white? Get real. TH.

Can someone confirm that there are new hires at UPS that have less than 1000 hours PIC turbine? I find that hard ti believe!

Actually, I have less than 1000 PIC turbine and was hired at UPS. But, here is the disclaimer: it was pre-9/11 and at the time, a few people were leaving Brown for the "majors".

Also, the majority of my flight time (approx. 72% of it) was multi-turbine also. I think Rhoid saw me post this on a different thread earlier.

As far as any recent new-hires with less than 1000 PIC turbine, that I couldn't tell you. I don't know.
