Jesus ... how could it NOT pass? Those guys deserve a good union, if anyone does.

That's what we thought at CommutAir, too, and it didn't pass. I'm curious, too, how it did at Corporate.

So....anyone know???

Yes Virginia, there is a Santa Claus, and for
Christmas he is giving the management at Corporate Airlines
a UNIONIZED PILOT GROUP!!!

Could have been avoided. In fact, should have been. The
parties involved could have done many positive things to prevent it.
They failed to do so.

My Glee at the passage is only tempered by the continuation
of deterioration of the quality of the line construction...

Now the real work begins!

Good luck all...

Belch

Congratulations to the pilot group, even those few of you who are ass holes :) . It will be a long, rocky road, but worth it in the end.

It is my most sincere hope that the pilot group
and management will work together in a professional
manner to resolve the issues that led to this...

hope and expectation are seperated by that vast
gulf known as experience.

Unions are volunteer organizations.... Lets see if the 3C guys huddle in the foxhole waiting for someone to charge out and forge ahead..... Or, do they all as one group....unified......

JETPIGS UNITE!!!!

Teamsters? Good luck. They were sad, sad representation at Great Lakes - Local 747. I wish the Corp Air guys and gals all the best!

and Alpa would do us better??? They don't

their mainline jobs!

Hahaha
Unions are political organizations..... understanding this is paramount and fundamental in effectiveness......

Good luck Boyz.....

It doesn't matter what the initials say on your lapel pin. A union is it's members and what it does, or does not do, is more dependent on the leadership at the local level than anything national does.

National can provide training, structure and access to resources but they don't run the union for you. The pilots at each carrier have to step up and become their union.

I totally agree. Our local at my last carrier was pretty weak and the gentleman assigned to work with us was also working with several other regionals. As a result, the business manager wasn't always available. As a pilot group, it took a lot of effort (sometimes without much help from the Teamsters) from individuals to make anything happen. Sadly, that enthusiasm would ebb and flow depending on how got a new job somewhere else in the industry.

Still, best wishes with the Teamsters. Great Lakes just got a 3% pay increase offer after nearly 5 years of negotiations under the guidance of the Teamsters.

We have some good people...will
they step up? Unknown. Will mgmt
come to the realization that it is here
and they might as well play ball?
Unknown. I don't think that anyone
expects anything unreasonable, but
a pay freeze going on four years old
is unreasonable.

Staying at a Motel 6 is sub-121
standard. 9 hr overnights between
eight-leg days are not only unreasonable
but unsafe. I don't care if I fly up to
8 hours in a 15 hour day, but by all that
is holy, give the guys some rest! They've
earned it at that point! It takes some
time to wind down after doing 8
approaches! Heck, 6 for that matter!

I want some coal for Christmas, and a
small portable stove...come january be
real handy for warming up the cabins!
I yeild the soapbox! Next!

Hey Belch, have you heard the one about Mr. President and Mr. Cheif financial officer giving themself a $75,000.00 bonus each while we all sit here without a payraise. Funny thing how they have the money to line their pockets.

That's Poor Management.

It's one this to freeze the pay across the board; it's another to freeze the pay of a companies work force and the Management continue to make large sums of money and receive bonus'.

If the 2 main employeed positions with this company were to walk out on the job (Station Agents and Rampers), 3C would have no choice but to pay them or shut the doors.

I hadn't heard that one, but I have heard all kinds of
things like it. I know that alot of it has been pure
fiction or gross exaggeration.

On the other hand there is very little that surprises
me any more...every once in a while I get a
surprise. I wish the next one to be pleasant!

Guys and gals, Merry Christmas from the bottom
of my heart. Fly Safe and may all those resumes
you've sent out pay off soon!

See ya on the line,

Belch

Belch, I guarantee no fiction out of my mouth. I only speek the truth!! Unlike members of CAE management.

Does this really surprise anyone if it DOES happen to be true?

2 years later and it looks like we got a pile of suck...

This place may have been better without it.. Supposedly pay raises were being mentioned and methods were put in place to get them realized..

I wasn't here when it all went down, but appearantly all the Pro-Union guys jumped ship months, if not weeks after getting the union voted in..
